Re: Point Blank Exercise 2020 (Lakenheath and Marham)

Thanks for all the comments guys!

The Have Glass V scheme consists of radar absorbing paint and a special coating inside the canopy, both of which help to reduce the aircraft RCS (Radar Cross Section) by up to 15% over normal F-16s. For obvious reasons the radome isn't painted with it!

Great to see the Army Wildcats - a type that doesn't seem to be photographed that often.

Good stuff, really like the first F-16 shot with the forest backdrop, I'm guessing you were up a ladder to get that?

Fantastic set Nick! That light at Lakenheath is something else :O

Favourite has to be the second F-35 shot, brilliant angle :D
Thanks James, luckily the light has been pretty good there recently for both of us!

Point Blank Exercise 2020 (Lakenheath and Marham)

Well, after an extremely quiet 2020 for obvious reasons, I decided I'd had enough of the same four walls and headed out to do some spotting - as there is a bit of variety in the UK at the moment. So, first up a glorious Wednesday evening at Lakenheath. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50328042226...

Re: Spotting during the pandemic

Outdoor leisure activities are now allowed providing social distancing is maintained. People can now go to the beach, play golf, sunbathe and many other activities, whether this is for the best nobody knows yet.

RAF Cosford Nightshoot 14th March 2020

A few from me of last night's Threshold shoot at RAF Cosford. It was certainly a busy one, with nearly 200 photographers vying for space to shoot the EAP and TSR2. It was a shame about the positioning of the TSR2 though, but I guess that couldn't be helped. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/496596...

Can I see the example flown into Duxford among these, pics 1 and 3 have a similar scheme to it when it arrived
No, the Duxford example isn't in the photos above, however, it did also come from the China Lake boneyard. The two flying examples - Doc and Fifi were also from here.

Re: Jalfrezi @ MAKS 2019 (large post)

The Russians don't care whether you're media or not, they just want your money! Nothing wrong with hiring a boat, you just won't get the takeoff and landing shots and the helis will still probably be a bit too far away, it all depends on what you want. EDIT: If you do have proper media accreditation...

I only managed to catch a bit of the flying on the trade day as the light is pretty harsh inside the show for aerial photography, it does improve towards the end so I managed to grab a few shots..... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48867082136_db117e98bc_h.jpg Sukhoi Su-57 - 01 by Nick Jennings ...

What camera gear do you use?
I use Canon gear, mainly a 5DIII and 7DII with 24-105 and 100-400mm lenses.
