Re: Hastings C1 Leeming firedump 1983

Further to the above, W & R 9 also states for Ewyas Harold : Hastings T.5 TG505 left by road northbound on 5 /5 / 82 , and has not been seen since. ... So there were 2 roadrunning hastings on the same day , no wonder they got confused at the time , but now corrected in the post further above by Jaws.

Hi Phil,

Thanks for that, it confirmed all my read offs . I think 152553 must have had a dodgy serial paint job as it seems to catch a few out!

Re: CH46 North island 22 March 1992

Thanks Nighthawk for taking the time to check the log. You are right about 152533 being 152553 /74. The Aforementioned Military serials of North America has them both as HC-11 VR-74 , but obviously 152533 is an error as definitely written off in 1968. It also has 151902 as being Dumped at Cherry poi...

CH46 North island 22 March 1992

Hi, On a visit to San Diego on the above date I managed to read some Sea Knights off that were on north island . Some the last 4 and also the codes and a couple must have been full read offs as no code noted. I do have a couple of queries though. This is how my original log looked: 152491 ( I did ha...

Viggen 37431 was nearly at the end of it's flying days circa 2000 onwards , it was ferried to Graz in 2005 for the museum would you have seen it there?

Re: 405 Magister Ex Fr AF ??

I have had a look at this and the last entry for it being stored at Chateaudun was in EMOOS 2007. The entry is among those that are no longer present and reads : 405/312-TF CM170 stored runway JUN94-OCT96- Auctioned NOV97? to USA. AS you have already discovered it has not taken up US markings so may...

Re: New MIG 21 for the UK

Going back to the sighting at the motorway services the aircraft was loaded with the tail planes separate and placed either side next to the cockpit area so I had to stick my head around this to see the serial so the fact I read it as 1811 and not 7811 does add up. I didn't want to poke around too m...

Re: New MIG 21 for the UK

I did notice there were 2 1811's - but N21PF has a distinctive paint job whereas the 1811 I saw was still in it's basic silver finish and was very much like the last pictures I have seen from when it was preserved in Poland.

New MIG 21 for the UK

On Sunday 26th January I popped into Cobham services on the M25 and I could not help but see a MIG 21 on a low loader parked in the HGV area . Closer inspection revealed the serial 1811 so I am presuming it is the MIG21M formally at Dabrowa Gornicza . The lorry had polish plates so the question is w...
