Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 General Discussion Thread

Only ones that spring to mind are the CV-22 Osprey as that usual does a display and like everyone else I'm still hoping the A-10 makes it over especially with the announcement last week that this is their last display year.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 General Discussion Thread

Not a bad update today Slovenian PC-9 is always a good display, Nice to see and hear about the Canadian and US involvement coming soon.

Does the last paragraph mean we won't be getting any US displays then?

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 General Discussion Thread

With the Royal Canadian Air Force's 100th anniversary to be marked next week (1st April), this week we announce the first of our static display items coming to RIAT as part of their centenary celebrations, both of which being historic De Havilland aircraft. Firstly we have a Chipmunk coming from Old...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 General Discussion Thread

Someone did mention that a few weeks ago and I'm sure I saw a news report saying they were flying together somewhere but I cannot remember where or when it was.

Fantastic.

Thursday arrival and Friday validation display going by schedule!
From head of RIAT Air Ops about validations/practice

There were no validations undertaken on the Friday of RIAT 2022 for any participating aircraft, nor will they be this year.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 General Discussion Thread

It would be great to see both the Mig-29 or the SU-22 Fitter but like airtyphoon said more likely to be F-16 demo especially with one of the themes being 50th anniversary of the F-16.

Would be awesome if all 3 of them turned up!!! But highly unlikely.

Seems strange they mentioned it in the Thursday update the other week then nothing since.

Re: Band Of Brothers Documentary

Totally agree with both yor comments one of the best war series ever made, The Pacfic is good too but not as good as Band Of Brothers and your right Condor88 there are indeed 10 episodes of The Pacfic.

Band Of Brothers Documentary

Just seen this on BBC News about some of the Band Of Brothers cast learning how to do proper parachute training and then doing a jump for the D-Day commemorations. It's called The Jump: Currahee to Normandy, No dates for when it's out but could be an interesting watch. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/art...
