An unusual UK Warbird

Seen at North Weald on Tuesday 8th June was the former XZ179, which is now allocated the civilian registration G-NCKS. This makes it - I believe - the third Lynx to grace the UK civil register after G-BEAD and G-LYNX? https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51239915142_8c57a4d77b_b.jpg G-NCKS-XZ179-Lynx...

Re: Apache AH1 vs AH-64E, 3rd June 2021.

So, a question - and apologies if I am being dense or am behind the eight ball here......

Are these ZM serialised Apaches new build machines or are they the old Ah64D models that have been recycled upgraded and given new serials (like the Nimrod MR4s would have been)?

Lossiemouth - Mid May - large post

Spent 3 days up in the north of Scotland on key worker business during week commencing 17th May and managed to grab a few hours at Lossie for 3 days in a row. Lossiemouth is, I think, may favourite UK base for photography - the inland runway threshold is amazingly open and there are some stunning ba...

ZJ914 - Solo Typhoon display aircraft 2021

I'm sure it will be one of the most photographed aircraft this year and at some point the kit manufacturers will replicate this scheme, but I havent seen any shots of ZJ914 on here yet, so here's a couple that I took at Coningsby today https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51217809442_42bc2e7c5c_b.jpg...

Ulster Aviation Society - Long Kesh

The UAS available for visits only by prior appointment and is located on the old RAF Long Kesh, next door to the somewhat infamous (to a certain generation) HM Prison The Maze. The collection itself is actually located in two ex RAF Hangars which 70 years ago was home to the Short Stirling productio...

A rather forlorn Gannet

Unfortunately I think this one (XG882) is too far gone for preservation but it would make a lovely addition to the Morayvia collection, what with its local connection. This is stored on the old RAF airfield at Errol between Dundee and Perth. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51196110218_f3195e3e6b...
