Re: Mini tour of Swiss bases and log 7-Jul & 9 Jul 2025

Stans houses many Spanish PC-21’s and a German WTD-61 PC-12 at the moment. Might be worth visiting, as its very close to Emmen and Alpnach I did consider a quick visit when I was driving from Alpnach and Emmen, but ADSBExchange was only showing civil traffic at Stans and my mind was on Emmen in cas...

According to PlaneBase J-3096 is correct and was previously marked as "J-3013". The real J-3013 was written off in a mid-air collision in 1981:

Payerne 20 May 2025

As I was in the area and had some free time I paid a visit to Payerne, weather was mixed but stayed mainly dry for my visit. Taken from the Museum car park, fence gets in the way but you are very close and when the Museum is open (it wasn't when I took this photo), there is a first floor viewing dec...

Dubendorf, Emmen and Alpbach

I have some time to spare on a trip to Switzerland at the beginning of July and a tour taking in Dubendorf, Emmen and Alpbach bases appears feasible. I was going to add Meiringen but it appears that there is no activity in July there, so leaving that out. Does anyone have any tips, advice etc based ...

Re: Exercise 5-21 May?

Is the exercise over as far as Fairford is concerned, or are the MC-130's and Ospreys expected back this week at all?

Re: Exercise 5-21 May?

Sorry for this question, but I've been away last week and trying to catch up with what's happening at Fairford. Reading the thread I can see that most (if not all activity) takes place in the evenings/overnight. So my question is really about what is at Fairford, I think it's three Osprey's, but I'v...

Lerwick Harbour 9 May

Does any know the serial of the Merlin on the back of RFA Tidesurge that left Lerwick around 1pm on the 9th May?

My photos from Sumburgh Head confirmed the ship was RFA Tidesurge A138, but too much haze to identify the Merlin

Payerne

I'm hoping to be able to get a few hours to spend at Payerne next month during a business trip. Other than the museum, I have seen reference to a viewing deck at the Aeropole site. However, the information I was reading is 10 years old, so I wondering does anyone have any recent experience/informati...
