Some of the bases being mentioned on here is laughable ha ha ha, how about North Weald, they got under power cables for the market so should be fine for a 5th gen fighter and all it’s data it needs ha ha ha how about manston too lol if it’s going to be anywhere surely it will be lakenheath or marham...

amazing photos, brings back great memories when I spent two weeks there on school work experience doing maintenance on the harriers around the year 2000, I remember it was the year RIAT was held there as I got free tickets, while my mates was stacking shelves or lugging bricks about a building site ...

They fly then every now and again to prove they meet their type 1000 storage, they have to be kept in a state where they can be returned to flight within a certain time frame, these occasional flights are to prove it.

Just amazing pictures, I wish there was a time machine, I’ve never seen so many Lightning’s in a hangar! Imagine if they just closed it, locked it up as a time capsule! Just love this jet
