Re: KC-135 23551

I've also heard the wheels down story, it seems unlikely that this happened as in general both sides fighter pilots would not ease off on a damaged bomber. In order to claim a kill the aircraft had to be seen to crash. There were, of course tales of individual chivalry on both sides but I don't thin...

Check as many photos as you can. The light coloured RAM pattern doesn't appear on the later deliveries. It was also absent on the USMC jets.

Re: Mildenhall Train station

Take the B1102 out of Mildenhall towards Worlington immediately after you cross the bridge on a right hand corner Station Road is on your left then Station Drive on your right drive down it and the station is fairly obvious. OS Ref TL707740.

Re: Kitty Hawk 1/32 OV-10 Bronco

Very nice, I remember the Sembach based ones (601TCW) visiting Lakenheath. When they were grey they had white upper wings to improve their visibility from friendly aircraft. When they went Charcoal Lizard it was overall.

Re: Media Day Blue Wings 2020 זרוע האויר והחלל Germany

Obviously a concession was made in the case of this exercise. I don't think it would be possible normally. If there is a permanent change then I'll return there in the future! It is also the case as mentioned that websites don't get as many posts because they usually need an external image hosting se...

Re: Media Day Blue Wings 2020 זרוע האויר והחלל Germany

I suspect the reason there has been little coverage of this event here is linked to COVID 19 and the fact that (as I know as a previous visitor to Norvenich) it is very difficult to photograph from outside. It is surrounded by military land so through the fence is both impossible and technically ill...

Nighthawke. I'm not in any way having a go at your spelling.
But the 'Spitting' slip up was worthy of officer Crabtree in Allo Allo.
An unintentional laugh is still a laugh.

Re: RAF Mildenhall to close. Lakenheath to get F-35 by 2020

Surely further discussion of totally unrelated subjects and theories on the outcome of elections is outside of a thread which as far as Mildenhall is concerned is finished. Concentrate on LN and the F-35s. I'm just waiting for the inevitable 'Not if X or Y is elected' you could add a 'the future is ...

Re: Tornado GR1 ejector warning symbols

garyscotts answer is correct, but back in the days of RAF Germany the Tonkas had FOUR warning triangles on the front fuselage each side plus doubled up rescue stencils in English and German. The UK based models had no German stencils.
