Just going to turn up with ID at the main gate around 8am I guess ( assuming my flight isn't cancelled due to weather delays today!)
That's your best bet. It was about 8am last year and it took a long time for them to process everyone

Re: Phoenix and Tucson area trip Feb 24 and request PHX 18.02.24

Don't forget that the airfield elevation of DM is 2,500ft, ie 2,500ft above sea-level. In simple terms (without getting into QFE versus QNH) The aircraft height readout will show 5,000ft (approx) as it is taking sea-level in to account. So, you will be approximately 2,500ft above the ground for the...

I assume you mean vignetting, where the corners are darker... that's normal on a FF camera when using a short focal length lens.

Easy to fix in post by applying a camera correction in LR etc.

Re: B21 Raider takes to the skies

There's a video circulating online showing it's first take-off: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAWr6BC_A4w Is it me or is there a wire coming from trailing edge with something on the end of it ? Some kind of testing equipment presumably ? measures the static pressure for testing the instruments - ...

Re: ADS-B Exchange sold to private equity firm

and yet ADSBx continues to grow - they have the historical data, and currently nothing at all has changed since it was sold

how many "new" replacements have there been so far?

so if we are already feeding ADSB.fi does it now default to feeding airplanes live, or do we need to setup yet another feed?

Re: Shooting aircraft in flight with an R series body & lens...

Like I said, even after the calibration the keeper rate wasn't much better, but at least static shots were in focus. It's definitely the way the camera works on aircraft subjects in particular I think. yeah the shutting down of the viewfinder is very disconcerting, but you have to train your brain t...

Re: Shooting aircraft in flight with an R series body & lens...

I’ve had the same issues however I’m using an R7 and the 100-500. For a start the equipment was off-calibration out of the factory and my keeper rate was similar to yours. I took it to a Elstree to be fixed and after calibration it was night and day. I was visiting London from overseas luckily. Howe...

Re: ADS-B Exchange sold to private equity firm

I'm not stopping feeding until we see what they do with the feeders and if they start to block traffic There's no way they can have decent coverage without independent feeders, and which in turn they need to give back an incentive to feed if they start a pay to play model. ADSBx is the only current ...

Nice shots, I am quite curious though, how low down on the VIP totem pole do you need to be to only get a seat on a VC-130, instead of the 330 or 310!!
In bad shape basically - in the past these were mobile hospitals, I assume they still have the same role, but not certain

Re: What happened to the rule about posting hex codes?

Can hex codes be wrong on tracking sites? very often, it's only as good as the backend database used on that website - rubbish in / rubbish out I'm talking about the HEX to registration or tie-up above - the HEX reported on the site is what the aircraft is transmitting, and that is still prone to e...

ZG998 - serial to left of roundel, tie down marking consists of j...
