Lakenheath locations
Could anyone tell me where abouts on the base is The Pits and also maintenance? I heard several pilots referring to these locations when I visited on Monday but had no idea where to look to spot them taxing in or out of these places. The latest map of Lakenheath that I have doesn't mention them. Man...

I was hoping to go on Monday (7th) so would be interested if there is likely to be any flying in the morning / early afternoon. As it is a 3-hour drive for me I don't really want a wasted trip. Any heads-up guidance would be most appreciated.

Try getting a copy of Pooleys flight guide (an old one will do). It has layouts for most aerodromes, civil and military and also contains frequency information. The best source is a military documnet either the Military AIP or some of the Terminal Charts. Unfortunately, they are far more difficult t...
