no worrys, yes it probably does feel a bit different, considering its all metal probably will feel a bit stronger than your 100-400! yes roll on RIAT!!!!!

if its the sports version no it wouldn't, in fact the lens is actually designed to be either push pull or twist operated. but if the lens is the contemporary version i don't think your really meant to do it.

The first thing I would say is maybe don't crop the shots so tight. If it's just a record shot of a particular aircraft, then that's fine but if you want to be creative then sometimes some context of movement and space is good. Settings look a little out. Hi chaps, i use this lens on my Nikon D7200 and ive found that higher shutter speeds helps a lot with the overall sharpness of the image, i found that shutter speeds between 1/1600-1/2000 is perfect for crystal sharp images, obviously this only an option when your shooting jets.
