Re: US pausing Military aid to Ukraine
Just give the yanks notice to quit, like France did in 1966. Remove all military bases, personnel &equipment from Europe within say three months, cancel all contracts for American military equipment and start building our own. We have the capability, but not the political will. Like tricky dickie on...

Re: Is Keir Starmer an Argentinian?
And that’s exactly why the current shower should not continue to be in power. Sauce for the goose methinksShort memory? The previous disaster of a government was built on lies and deceit and jobs for mates. That’s why they were wiped out in the election.

Re: Is Keir Starmer an Argentinian?
Are you a tabloid reader "atech", or worse, "work" for one? No, I dont read the papers, but I am a retired veteran of said conflict and I did watch PMQ's I am just sick and tired of the lies and sleaze that keeps coming out of this government. This is the general discussion part of the forum, and I...

Is Keir Starmer an Argentinian?
At PMQ's yesterday KS was asked about the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands. His reply was that The Falklands were very dear to him, as his uncle was on a ship that was torpedoed whilst defending the Falkland islands, during the 1980 altercation. If I recall correctly (and I do) the only ship that...

Re: Chancellor statement
I think you make my point exactly, if it doesn’t affect you you’re not interested, indicative of todays society. I think the reason we have a five page discussion is because of the strength of feeling and concern that people are sharing. You are clearly no fan of the Tories, for what it’s worth I us...

Re: Chancellor statement
people need to remember that the state pension is NOT a benefit, it is a RIGHT bought and paid for with a minimum of 38 years national insurance contributions. In my case I paid over 50 years. It is interesting to see that some people on this forum are whinging and whining about loosing some minor F...

For the time being, don't forget that we pensioners still have the advantage of the triple lock.
Who was it that stated that this labour government was totally different from the Wilson/Callahan/Blair/Corbin fraternity

Re: Chancellor statement
The country is broke - and that didn't just happen in the last three weeks - and needs to be paid for. Yes the country is broke, but mainly because for nearly two years we paid a lot of the population 80% of their salary to sit at home and do s*d all, seriously egged on by one Mr Captain Hindsight ...

Re: Chancellor statement
First act of a Labour government, steal 300 quid off the pensioners to pay the doctors 22% pay rise. No doubt the doctors will want another pay rise in the winter because they are overloaded with old people suffering from hypothermia.
Still, most pensioners didn't vote labour, so no harm done.

Re: Time to retire Lightroom 5?
With the subscription, you get lightroom and photoshop which I prefer. Haven’t used lightroom for years. I have used every version of photoshop since version 4, but I will admit that it is a steep learning curve if you haven’t used it before. Like all software updates do you really need and will you...

Stn ramp rat Thankyou for your reply. My previous post was intended to provoke some debate and counter some of the falsehoods which had been posted prior to mine. Whilst some may disagree with what I posted, it was entirely factual. I was annoyed that whoever took the action to delete my post chose ...

Oh so we are allowed to have political discussions on this forum, or is only the chosen few? My post of a couple of days ago was deleted, and whichever mod/administrator was responsible didn’t even have the decency to contact me and tell me why☹️☹️☹️☹️ I thought that this kind of restriction on free...

Re: General Election Thursday 4th July 2024
You can join a political party at 16, but can't vote for them. You can join armed forces at 16 but not have a say in how the country is run [ Just because you can do something in Scotland and Wales doesn’t make it a good litmus test for doing the same in England. The politicians that made those dec...

Re: General Election Thursday 4th July 2024
To be fair and balanced though, the million “grey haired brigade” who died are easily replaced by the new generation of nappy wearing electorate who will be given the right to vote by the Labour Party as soon as they reach kindergarten age.

Re: Nationalise the railways?
Before WWII all railways were privately owned. During the war the railways took a hell of a beating and after the war the private rail company’s didn’t have the where with all to provide the needed capital to carry out the necessary investment in infrastructure, hence nationalisation. The Beeching r...
