A few years ago when you used Google Earth to look at Huntingdon, there was a silhouette of a Lancaster flying over the river!
I remember that! Just looked and its in 2003. Over houses though.

Re: Google Earth

I quite enjoy looking at airfields on Google Earth Pro (desktop app), especially going back in time and seeing the differences. For example Mildenhall has images from 1945, 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2015(2) and 2018.

Re: Has anyone else heard this story and is it true or even possible?

I've heard a variation of this. A Vulcan took a photo of a U2 from above with the White House in the background! I thought I heard that whilst at Doncaster on the XH558 tour. RAF sent them a photo and also had it up at one of the squadrons head quarters. I wonder if any of these stories are even rem...

Re: Camera recommendations

I would recommend the Nikon 70-300mm VR used from MPB. I had that lens for a long time while starting out and it was fantastic, I wish I still had it but it got trading in for longer reach in the end. It also works with full frame cameras. https://www.mpb.com/en-uk/used-equipment/used-photo-and-vide...

Great shots. I particularly like the Tucano, it's got some really nice light on it.

Re: Which lens to take?

Hi Geraint I'm not personally a big fan of teleconverters. Although I understand the fact of that they can create a completely different lens with minimal extra weight in your bag. For take off shots and display teams the 40-150mm on its own would be good but for in flight shots the 300mm would be h...
