Correct, and if 6 aircraft deploy, they don’t just have the 6 ‘ferry’ pilots to fly during the deployment. All of the other pilots go civair or by military charter/transport and are usually in position (jet lag rested etc) ready to start flying straight away. Regards Interesting, never come across ...

There are no F-22s at Lakenheath! The man serving coffee will have spoken to one of the pilots who has come over by air transport ready for the fighters arrival.
