Re: Ladders at Waddington

One of the reasons I walked away from base visits. Arrogant tw*ts standing on ladders in front of everyone when not really needed. One of them at Fairford arrivals a few years ago said "I've travelled miles to get here and I'm not missing the shot." So, basically up yours ! A reflection of modern li...

Re: Meet the Fighters - Duxford Sept 16

I Like that a lot, a nicely composed and exposed shot. One that works for me.
The colours in the background really show how well that camouflage works, and strangely make it stand out at the same time.
Cheers.

Re: Viewing options for 2017

If you want to view arrivals I would go on Wednesday as a very large proportion of participants will arrive that day. Some display validation will also take place. Thursday is usually for the rest of the arrivals and most of the display validation flights. Friday is basically a mini airshow. The 27 ...

Re: Few old shots of 2nd gen.

Love them mate especially the head on shot. Has your hearing come back yet after this one? Nice post processing by the way and guess what, I actually love these things. I've always liked big flaps hanging down If you know what I mean. I think they will grow on people as we get used to seeing them, m...

Re: Anti collision lamp.

Tankbuster and Toom Thanks for the info and warning.I did think these things would be a bit dodgy after connecting them up.I would also think they would be very bright. I still fancy having a go though. One of my neighbours is into old radios and has a working set from a Lancaster. He even uses the m...

Re: Anti collision lamp.

Hi I'm sorry I can't help with your query but would like to ask how you powered up your light. I have a couple of lights in my "junk/treasure" collection, depending on your point of view. One is a red circular beacon, labelled up as from a Jaguar and the other is a clear strobe as used on fast jets suc...

Re: Will the hobby ever be the same?

I sometimes wonder what it would be like in the future.Would there be a spotters corner full of people, waiting patiently for the arrival of a detachment of UAVs from Spangdahlem? Would we drive hundreds of miles to mid Wales in the hope of seeing a fast jet with no pilot onboard and who would hand o...

Aircraft for sale

After seeing the photos of the Hercs on the motorway I got thinking. That would make the ultimate caravan to annoy other road users. I don't need the wings or engines and it comes complete with wheels. Seriously though,It breaks my heart to see these magnificent beasts reduced to this. http://www.edi...
