Re: Au revoir KC-135

I would just like to say that I have a different listing to those above The AdLA had delivered - 12 - C135F's delivered, One A/c - 38473 was w/o.01.07.1972 - the remainder were then upgraded to C135FR's There were 6 - KC135R's = 71439 - 23516 - 38033 which were on a Lease basis & Returned to the USA...

Re: Jaguar 2 squadron XZ101 any photos?

The photo is nothing to do with me. I simply did a quick search using the first part if the OP's question, which, to be honest, they could have done themselves but I was trying to help a newbie. I was not getting at you,Nighthawke but just stating that this paticular A/c never went to the GR.3 Mod ...

Re: Jaguar 2 squadron XZ101 any photos?

Morning - This comment will probably put the Cat amongst the Pigeon's ( so to speak ) The picture that has been put up for you has this A/c as a GR.3, well depending how much you want to split hairs it is Not as it never got upgraded to GR.3 status According to my records it went from GR.1 upgraded ...

Re: Coningsby 'Jags'

But not at the same time as the other types above, which is the point of the post. Well there were neither Harriers or Tornado GR's based there either only the ADV version - F.2/F.3 On a footnote to you 3Greens - yes you are correct in saying that the Last Jaguar Out was GR.3A - XZ112 But it was in...

Re: Coningsby 'Jags'

An all too brief, but interesting, period in the Station's history. Think I'm right in saying that it was when the greatest diversity of types was based there; Harriers, Jags, Tornados (of both marks) as well as Typhoons. Remember attending the Spotters Day it hosted on the eve of the Families Day ...

Re: FRIAT renewal 25

I have been spotting since the 70s and I still make between 40 and 50 at RIAT which is more than at any other show or exercise in Europe including Iniochos or Anatolian Eagle. RIAT can be hard work but it is a must do. I don't do FRIAT mainly because I don't need more than one day at RIAT. Do You r...
