My father took me to a show in 1967 or 68 and still have fond memories of the RAF Harrier debut, Hunters ground attack demo, Andover display, high flypast of 4 x F100s from Lakenheath and, my personal favourite as we lived near Woodford, a white Vulcan safety scramble - possibly 21 aircraft? My 1st Finningley show was in the 60s, with a white Vulcan safety scramble being the highlight. Other notable displays included first RAF Harrier VTOL demo, 4 x 48 LN F100s tactical assault demo with Andover and ground attack Hunters. They don't make em like they used to..

I used to live under the Cranwell approach and remember an SR71 flying right over the house on a PD possibly for a passing out parade. No radio then - early/mid1980s - and never saw a serial.
