The anniversary markings are typically RAF and so underwhelming.
What markings or scheme would YOU have put on the jets that wouldn't underwhelm anyone?

Re: Leconfield Open Day - 20th July 1974

Excellent photos. Nice to see my favourite Lightning, XM135, now displayed at the IWM Duxford. This is the jet flown by Engineering Officer (the late) Taff Holden from and to RAF Lyneham. For anyone not familiar with what happened, it's well worth a Google search!

Re: MHZ base flight

On a couple of sites I look in on, some people seem to use codes just to appear clever rather than the need to save space. I have no idea what MHZ is and don't intend to chase my tail looking it up. There is plenty of space available in the title line and text boxes to avoid abbreviations.

How about some of the scheme critics publishing their own artwork and ideas of what this retirement scheme should have been?

Nice photos, and it's good to see the Luftwaffe grey leather jackets are still around.

Superb photos of (in my aviation life time) the original "Growler", before the name was hijacked by the F-18.

That's going to be a challenging removal. Hopefully no injuries involved.

Re: 99 Squadron photoshoot RAF Brize Norton

Very nice photos.

I've not caught up with any comments before about people selling their free tickets before. It's a shame, especially if it could affect future events.
On the C-17, is the number 060205 below the British serial number an American reference?

Embarrassing is a good word to describe the Red Arrows at the moment. I feel strong and effective leadership is the only way they can recover their reputation.

Just in case it wasn't obvious in the "above two posts" I will repeat my opinion here... I'm finding it increasingly difficult to believe there is sufficient 'Good News'to warrant this Topic Thread? Just repeat your comment but put it in bold why don't you It will escalate when the comments ...

Re: Red Arrows in Turmoil ?

I can only speculate that the squadron has suffered a massive and chronic failure of leadership, management and direction for them to arrive in this state. I am not so sure management style causes romantic and or sexual relationships to form. P. Of course the management style doesn't cause the rela...

Re: Red Arrows in Turmoil ?

With the current revelations about the team I can only speculate that the squadron has suffered a massive and chronic failure of leadership, management and direction for them to arrive in this state. I cannot imagine that some of the reported issues (assuming for a moment that they're accurate) have...

Re: XH558 to leave Doncaster in 2023, either dismantled or by ferry flight..

If the CAA authorise a ferry flight I'll be amazed, as there are so many issues to overcome. From a practical air traffic aspect though, I'd speculate that should a flight be made, it's not as straightforward as planning to fly from A to B. Although that would be the plan, one or possibly two divers...

Re: Red Arrows in Turmoil ?

The Reds might manage a 9-ship next season if the leaders in the squadron can overcome the problems of this year. I'm sure that the issues highlighted in the press now are not much different to those of a regular and less high profile outfit, but it looks worse when you're in the public eye. They se...

Re: Alleged UFO or UAP, 1990, Calvine, Scotland

If there's anything to hide rumour, counter-rumour and dis-information are very effective. After all, there are some people who still think that RAF Gibraltar was designated as a Space Shuttle emergency abort destination!

Bearing in mind that it's the Daily Mail, they're reporting today that the USAF have grounded all their F-35's for ejection seat checks.

Folks, I see lots of messages based on ACARS messages, but nobody mentions their source. Apparently some people want to keep it as their personal secret. As a person participating in developing https://acars.adsbexchange.com it is my duty to direct you to this great site. Enjoy! Thanks for posting ...
