Re: Penrith

I would just go to dunmail raise to be honest. Kirkstone is good when you get passes but most go dunmail raise, just park at the AA box laybye or on the grass either side of the dual carriage way section. East side is easiest to climb either on the ridge above the AA box or hop across the stream and...

Re: Best Guess Anyone?

Everyone will be on Ullswater until the Christian Festival in Keswick finishes. There is a typohoon exercise on every day for the rest month nation w...

Re: Noctilucent cloud.

Caught them last week from carlisle. Just on my phone. Friday night looks clear at the minute so might drive out somewhere for some better shots. They are saying this years are the best recorded so far reaching places further south than ever before linked to a solar minimum of sun spots.

Flying, would be my guess :P  Probably a couple week deployment training alongside the SQNs at LN. Could they be here for formidable shield? I'm sure I read somewhere there were some f16s over last time it took place? [/quote] No. 4x SP F-16s are at Lossiemouth for Formidable Shield Dinger [/q...

Re: TAC Blaze 2019 Spadeadam movements

Follow the road as if you were going to Wiley Syke. Just after the first cattle grid ( its on a slight downhill and bend to left ) you will see an area big enough for about 5 cars. You will also see a wooden sign pointing to the Gorge. Follow the well trodden path ( the walk takes about 15-20 mins ...

Re: TAC Blaze 2019 Spadeadam movements

Im heading for the Gorge on Thursday. Hopefully might see something. In the past the Dutch have been very 'considerate' to us spotters. Hope to see everyone over next 2 weeks. Geoff Do you just walk acoss the footpath from the parking just after the cattle grid? I notice the footpath says its usabl...

Not an raf decision it was a decision made by the aircraft safety board due to the age of the airframes. Source? I don't have a direct link to a source unfortunately. I found out through a FB page im on and we often get pilots asking for photos of shots we have taken. One of the tornado pilots conf...

They did passes on the Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th January in the lakes, after new year then they were banned from going low level due to safety concerns towards the end of that week. Anyone heard anything official about the rumour of no more low level sorties allowed only medium level due to safety concerns. Shame if it's true but had to happen some time.

Re: Notams/Info RAF Spadeadam 2017/2018

I sat at the range last night and there was nothing until I left at 20:00. After I left and darkness fell a single c130 used the range. There hasn't been any Apaches this week I don't think. A single Merlin used the range on Wednesday night. Don't be surprised if Friday and Saturday nights notams di...
