Re: BAe systems Warton 31st August 2017

Excellent shots Mickey. The Storm Shadow shots are great to see - I worked on it early in my career and wonder what they are doing with it development wise now. I might stop off next Friday afternoon - do you know if any Southport Airshow traffic is using Warton or are they basing at Blackpool as pe...

A Week In The Lakes

A few short dashes up the hills last week produced a reasonable return. Great company throughout, Dunmail East on Tuesday morning with Adrian, Thursday lunchtime on Lanty with Ben and Great How with my 7yr old daughter late Friday morning (the last shot is her first ever with an SLR - an old 1000D a...

Re: Warton based a/c for Blackpool Airshow?

Thanks all. BBMF also parked up there at the moment if anyone is planning a last minute visit today. I didn't think Bpool had the necessary facilities anymore but must have been wrong.

Warton based a/c for Blackpool Airshow?

Hi. Does anyone know if/what will be based at Warton for next weekends Blackpool airshow and if so likely times of arrival? If any a/c are based over the weekend I'm assuming there will be similar arrangements for Southport in September but any info similarly appreciated.

Dunmail 10-7-17 - Thunderbirds Weren't Go

First time out on a hill this year due allsorts of other commitments. However, working away form home with little to do in the afternoon, my camera luckily in the car and rumours at lunch of the Tbirds going low level pretty much everywhere found me on Dunmail West. Unfortunately, as so often with t...

F16's (& others) Low Level, Including Belgian Special

Not posted in a while though thought these might be of general interest. A variety of F16's visited the Mach Loop on Wednesday 12th July, along with Pinky and around 10 Hawk passes. The Thunderbirds remained tantalisingly close to low level and could have completed a nap hand but only No. 7 turned u...

Nice shots Mickey. Seems strange they never seem to take them low on the shake down flights - rarely seen any of them up in the Lakes.

Warton 26-5-17 - One for the record.....

Got there 3pm and I don't think anything significant had moved by that time. Everyone cleared off then just as I was about to leave the sound of a turbine wound up from the hangars ~4:10pm, surprised me at that time on a Friday. Nothing from the departure as he was vertical in no time on R08. Went t...

Re: BAe Systems Warton 24th May 2017

Cracking shots Mickey. I was watching for the Saudi Tornado on ADS-B but saw nothing. Managed to track ZK622 on the Lakes joyride. Do you know how reliable ADS-B is and particularly for Warton traffic? Think the pick up for ADS-B is weather or not the aircraft is sqawking . I will stand correcting ...

Re: BAe Systems Warton 16th February 2017

Nice shots Mickey - saw the Hawk go up from distance and assumed it was the primer ZB120 that I caught on Tues. Unfortunately missed it's return though think we briefly met when I arrived just after the Typhoon went tech? Quiet week all in but #2's a great shot. I was hoping the Saudi Tornado would ...

Warton Activity Next Week

I'll be around the area next week - is much getting prep'd for delivery or the Saudi Tornado likely to be up and about? Thanks for any info - will be in Wrea Green with family so will try and duck out in any case if I catch anything on the scanner or hear a rumbling.....

Hi again. Thanks for the comments on the A400 thread. A400 Atlas Low Level Lake District - 23-11-16

Hi all. Newby on this site and couldn't find any shots of the new big bird on here so thought I'd post these for interest - taken in the Lake District near Ambleside 23-11-16. 1. Favourite shot https://c3.staticflickr.com/6/5459/30832755930_aeabeedd8a_b.jpg 0P0A3150 by Jamie W , on Flickr Others fro...
