I believe the problem with a stuck Pogo is that it makes for a very tricky landing and possible damage to the aircraft if it is not climbing away when the pogo detaches. A couple of B-47 shots at Fairford from a local Facebook page, supposedly taken in September 1962. The top one already has the '0-' (zero-dash) before the rest of the serial indicating 'over 10 years old' Since it's a 1953 serial, that suggests it was taken after 1963? Their 1952 FY serials.
