I might be wrong, but the quoted $200k seems to be back of a fag packet maths based on the $ per flight hour cost of a delivery flight (and back) solely to deliver these. there is a flypast at brookwood military cemetery at 3pm also. In 2017 this was two f15s from LN so this could be the same pair on the way back.

Not that rare, surely? How about for:- - U-2s, - the Embassy flights, - flight checker activities, and - (very) occasional CV-22/MC-130 usage. That is just ignoring any NOTAMs regarding infrastructure and, of course, RIAT. I should have clarified, it’s rare to see a notam for non-exercise movements...

This particular article seems to be a mix of re-written press release, with a good old dose of “sticking it to Russia” thrown in - though they have covered many deployments in a similar manner through the years.
