Re: which road to take to see USMC F35 Saturday

I've taken the liberty to converted Bob's info above into direct links on Google maps. Caveat his comments: most of these places need great care because of traffic; even turning out of the viewpoint can be precarious with 25 ton tractors speeding past! :O https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/52.638676+...

Re: Typhoon busy hour - the norm. or an exception?

Hi, the bombing ranges are very "hit and miss" now days. Also you say they were on for 55 minutes, that can also vary. I have been sometimes and waited most of the day only to see a couple of aircraft which do one or two runs then depart back to base. Other days can be fairly busy with lots of acti...

Ok. thanks Philly. Enjoy. It's a lovely part of the world. That was our thoughts when we went last week and were richly rewarded. I hope your visit is as fruitful.

Re: Typhoon busy hour - the norm. or an exception?

How was the road and parking situation when you were there? Two cars at the beach end (one had to reverse back all the way), four at the bend where the road ends. Room for more, probably turn around before you park. You say you'll be there next Thursday. Do you know they'll be back there again then...

Typhoon busy hour - the norm. or an exception?

Arrived at Holbeach, Gedney Drove End, Gate B at around 14:00 today, laid out in the sun and watched Typhoons 'electronically' bombing the targets for about 55 minutes; about one diving run at least every 30 seconds. I guess we must have been very lucky, or does this occur more regularly than I thou...

Re: Lakenheath 23/6 - chance of no flying

I was in the viewing area late yesterday [22/06/2020] and when one of the last of the final 8 took off. Watching with binoculars, I saw lots of 'black stuff', Tarmac?, fly up in the air and wondered at the time if it was a burst tyre. They all landed intact, so no problem with the tyres, but they la...

For another £70 you can get the same monitor with a curved screen!
The benefit of this being?
Not a clue; but I guess some people might be interested as it's a 'feature' for not a lot extra.

.. do you have Amazon prime? If so they offer free photo storage - including RAW files - and it's entirely unlimited, as part of your Prime subscription. (I've got about 3TB backed up)
I never knew, and I thought I knew everything. :P

Thanks for that, great tip!

Nook Campsite - Is it open?

Hi All I made a booking by text message for the campsite at John's Field and duplicated it to both email addresses, but have had no confirmation in 24 hours. I will phone John later, but just wanted to see if John is ok and the site is open. Perhaps anyone staying there at the moment or visiting the...

Some of the best pictures I have *ever* seen on this forum. Spectacular, and no annoying 'branding' to spoil the pictures.

My personal, living-room slide-show will be blessed with these!

Thank you!

Great set of pics. The best thing is there is no silly personal logo on them so they can all go straight into my home slide-show
Looking forwards to more!

Just in case anyone missed this if, they don't do Facebook. Timings will not be released yet but will come later as per t...
