Re: Eskisehir - Phantom Spotters Day 17-11-2024
If it's the video I saw I am the guy near the edge desperately trying to get one finger into my left ear to save what's left of my hearing! At a guess about 10 passes from each aircraft so about 16-20 passes Today we have had 9 different flyers and now 6 more have taxied our for the Rhino walk? Qui...

Re: Eskisehir - Phantom Spotters Day 17-11-2024
Yeah, the poll says moving dates isn't an option for most. Lots of people suggesting some extra time on base instead, which I personally would be delighted with. I'm sure they'll be keen to fly low if possible. It's still only Tuesday and the forecast is likely to change as the week goes on. It's g...

Re: AFM - UK Defence Select Committee Report Article
Apologies, was a bit tongue in cheek as SLBMs is what the missiles are normally referred to as and SSBNs for the boats themselves.

Just an observation.

Re: AFM - UK Defence Select Committee Report Article
Nothing wrong with the airtanker contract. Airtanker have said multiple times they are willing to change the contract to suit RAF needs such as fitting booms to some of the fleet or allowing a few A-400M's to be fitted with pods so they can be stationed down the Falklands freeing the Voyager up tha...

Re: Tempest to fly faster than the speed of sound
B-21 looks a lot like a small B-2... not sure you can draw the conclusions you are about tech and stealth from looks alone. Superficially yes, but there are differences. At this stage only those working on the products will have any knowledge and none of those will be posting on an open forum like ...

Re: Tempest to fly faster than the speed of sound
The second one is closer to the configuration they will be working towards, note the similarities to Japan's F-X/F-3 configurations. Both the above configurations are very similar. Sure, the second has a much revised nose that looks F-X / F-22 esq. The technology though resembles 5th gen and given ...

Re: July 2022 Log/Movements
Fair point regarding people who may work at BAe! Do the Qatari (or any other nations) new Typhoons fly from here once built and would they be reported on here (by those who don't work at BAe)? Or do they just get loaded straight into a Globemaster? Nobody has worked for BAe for a while… a few might...

Wednesday B-2s
Decided I head to down this week despite the long distance because who knows when they'll be something to take photos of again with the current situation. Weather wasn't the best, but the drizzle in the evening and the floodlight on the ramp made for some interesting opportunities. https://live.stat...

You'll have to excuse that a few aren't military aviation, but they fly under the sea so I'll count them :P Few that I didn't have to hand tonight so I will follow up with those at the weekend. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48375556912_8b7593968b_n.jpg SSBN 09 Front https://live.staticflickr.c...
