Are you suggesting that Mildenhall was chosen for closure to protect a Base in America? Wouldn't the Rand Corporation which is effectively the USAF's research foundation want to maintain as many bases as possible regardless of where they are in order to maintain the USAF's global reach?

Yep, saw it there 20 years or more ago. I thought it would have been made a central exhibit. When I saw it, it was just roped off in a corner, with little made of it!. Peculiar. Only recognised it from the air intakes. I must have seen it in the mid nineties as well, seem to remember at being stuck...

Hi folks went down to Flixton yesterday. What a fantastic place, so much stuff crammed into every space. We had a great time and even managed to clock an F15 over Oulton Broad later on. Happy days! Thanks everybody for their suggestions, plenty to still go and see in forthcoming visits.
