I don't take much notice of early testing. All set-up experimentation, and possibly some sand-bagging [well it is the Middle East]. Serious stuff next week!.
My thoughts exactly - WEC season opener at Losail ;)

Re: Lakenheath - nuclear store

Update 14.11.23 - The Guardian has an update on the nuclear store story - seems CND are asking the local council for an environmental impact study, may end up in court - worth a read for background https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/nov/14/council-urged-to-review-plans-that-could-lead-to-uk-hos...

Re: Panamoz and HDEW cameras?

+1 for both dealers. With Panamoz you can also haggle a bit as a returning customer - which is nice. They've given me a bit of discount each time I've made a purchase. The last lens I bought from them, ordered on a Friday, UPS delivered it on the following Monday.

Re: Lakenheath - nuclear store

Not to mention ALL regional seats of Government. All were and most likely will be targeted, regardless of whether there are any nearby military installations. The fact that these folk don’t seem to be able to grasp this displays quite a flaw in their argument.

Re: Why is it raining so much?

The succession of low pressures for the UK and the extreme heat in the med is all down to the good old Jetstream. Netweather.com has Jetstream position forecast maps covering several days and funnily enough around the 11th August the current intensity is projected to break down, which ties in with t...

Re: Formula 1 2023

Switch to WEC and IMSA ;) There is is the occasional over intitled tatrum from Seb Buemi (anyone see a RB link here) but it's fairly well mannered otherwise plus you get Martin Haven and John Hindhaugh respectively rather than the inflated ego of David Croft.

I've had an R5 & 100-500 combo for over a year and I'm still learning! coming from a 1DXII mirrorless is certainly very different. A couple of things I picked up on DPReview re. EVF lag and how to mitigate it, hopefully the camera menu's are similar on the 6 & 7. Camera menu 7: Expo. Simulation Disa...

 As an aside to my howls of laughter at this comment I thought I'd better explain my position. I've never been a member of a union and I never want to be. Even at Uni for undergrad or postgrad the NUS did not interest me one bit! It probably didn't make me popular with 'that' particular crowd b...

Re: SR-71 Hangars at Mildenhall

I just had a look on Google Earth and it's the building South of building 707 across the ramp from all the 130s. It's the drive-thru hangar you can tell one side is a car park Thanks, I had wondered where they were. I was a bit too young at the time to know that when they were deployed over here. M...

Re: Artemis 1 - NASA Return to the Moon

NHC is currently predicting hurricane conditions for the Florida peninsula for early next week so I’d be surprised if they don’t announce a roll back at the next briefing. I think they’d be hard pushed to get it back out there for the 3rd October (I think) launch opp, better safe than not at all! E...
