These last few weeks Eindhoven Air Base in the southern part of The Netherlands received some nice visitors. Because it's only a 30 min drive from my own base managed to capture a few and even weather played ball most of the time. 1. https://i.ibb.co/rKxsBmrB/a.jpg 'GAF769', a A319-100 on the wester...
Between March the 31st and April the 11th exercise Ramstein Flag 2025 took place. Hosted by the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF), RAFL25 brought together around 2000 personnel, over 90 aircraft from more than 15 NATO nations, operating from 12 Allied air bases across Europe. From Leeuwarden Air B...
There seems to be a directive from Greek HQ to avoid the Vouraikos low flying area next week. Source should be 338 Sqn at Andravida, reason is thought to be safety related (area became to popular/crowded).
As previously mentioned, most of the low flying occurs in the Vouraikos canyon, in the week before the exercise (24-28) then during the exercise itself (31/03-10/04) Rumors out there that they will NOT use the well known low flying area next week, prior to the exercise... :( Still trying to find out...
Nope, the French Air Force operated 14 examples of the C-135, 11 C-135FR's and 3 KC-135R's. The C-135FR's have all been retired (and sold to Metrea), just the 3 KC-135R's left from what I've heard.
Last week one of the last three serviceable French KC-135R's made a quick stop at Eindhove Air Base, The Netherlands. The Stratotanker flew a trainingsmission out of its homebase Istres on Wednesday the 12th using callsign FAF4115, landed at the end of the afternoon on RWY21 and departed again withi...
In 2009 the last Tactical Leadership Programme (TLP) editions took place at Florennes, Belgium whereafter it was relocated to Albacete, Spain. In the 90's and 00's made the 3 hour drive down there many times, half of the time for nothing because the mission was cancelled due to striking French ATC, ...
The 2008 NATO Tiger Meet was held in June at Landivisiau, France and hosted by the 11th Flotille of the French Navy and codenamed 'Ocean Tiger'. Although I am not the biggest fan of all these tiger color schemes I went anyway hoping to also catch some 'normal' fighters as well as some French Super E...
Sorry to hear that, and quite surprising too. Contrary to your own unfortunate experience, the F-4 guys bent over backwards for our visit, with the A-4 team being one's less co operative. Was probably because the QRA went out with two F-4's with live armament, they're never to happy if you...
Morning Mustang, Understand completely what you're saying there. Also hate you have to travel that far nowaydays just to see something! Back in the 90's there was plenty to see over here in The Netherlands on our own Dutch bases, but nowadays with all the noise regulations and environmental measures...
Thanks gentlemen, glad you can appreciate 'em! Thanks for sharing these with us, great shots. I attended this event too, very enjoyable day. It's such a shame that we have nothing like it in the UK. Say what?!?! With exercises like Cobra Warrior, bomber deployments at RAF Fairford, bases over there ...
Great set of images of those 'reclusive scooters'. I was fortunate enough to get a glimpse of them on a guided tour of Wittmund airbase in April 2011 (prior to venturing on to Leeuwarden for 'Frisian Flag'.) Whilst wandering around the resident F-4 ramp/hangars, we came across the A-4 ramp, where f...
From July the 16th till July the 18th 2007 a large Operational Integration Exercise took place at Kleine Brogel, Belgium. It was an amazing event with such a variety of participating countries and airframes (and still not a F-35 in sight, happy days!). While most photographers opted to position them...
