Return of a RF84F Thunderflash in 1988
After a few attempts on July 29th 1988 I could witness my first and only flying RF84 Thunderflash when it returned to The Netherlands. It was discovered in Greece and, then still operational, as an ex KLu example came back to 306 squadron based at Volkel in those years. It arrived from Ramstein esco...

Longshot USS Eisenhouwer 1988
During the holiday in southern France the USS Eisenhower was anchored in the bay of Cannes. I could arrange a short visit but have some gaps in my logs. Perhaps there is somebody with a log of around this day Aug.9th 1988?? Many thanks in advance!!

Spangdahlem monument
Along with this F105G 'The Silent Majority' and the 'Lest we forget' sign at Gate 2, is a small monument for the fallen airmen of the 52FW.

Just wow Harold!! What a set and what a well phramed subject. Just curious, whereabouts was that QRA installement? Is it still there these days? The QRA was af the north/westside of the runway. Nowadays the big cargoramp is extended to the former QRA but I believe it is still there (out of order) a...

The Last Phantom @ Ramstein 25-06-1986
On June 25th 1986 a media day was organised to say farewell to the last F4E Phantoms of the 86TFW. We could also welcome some of the first F16's and the ANG F4D Phantoms who stepped in for QRA duties during the transition of 86TFW (deployment called Creek Klaxon). A very nice and memorable day! http...

25 years Phantom @ IAT Greenham Common 1983
The main theme for IAT 1983 was 25 years of Phabulous Phantoms and 30 F-4's of three air forces joined the party. Sadly no F'4s of the Greek, Turkish nor Spanish air forces attended but it still was a great sight to see all units of: RAF A&AEE, 19, 23, 29, 43, 56, 92, 111sq and 228OCU. Luftwaffe: AK...

RAF Wildenrath July 1982
On July 6th/7th I visited RAF Wildenrath in Germany, then host to 19sq and 92sq with Phantoms. Like other RAF bases Wildenrath attracted a lot of visitors those day's. I was lucky because 6 different F-4C's from 110TFS/131TFW Missouri ANG came in for a lunchstop while on deployment to RAF Leeming. h...

Re: 110 FS F4Cs @ Leeming '82
I looked in my old logs and I saw 07-07-1982 four F-4C's at RAF Wildenrath, 63-620, 64-749, 64-747, 64-928 :) . Yup! I was there too that day. And the next day, but only saw 64-0704 departing. These are the F-4C that visited RAF Wildenrath on July 6th/7th, 1982: https://i.ibb.co/f26Vfxj/637434-F4-C...

Cornonet Sidewinder II took place from June 7th to 23th and brought a mix of 12 F-15A/C/D Eagles from the 71 TFS (red) to Soesterberg AB. Very nice! Just realised that the first Eagles had fy71, already 52 years ago, and that the basic design is still in production. But then again also is the F16.... Thanks for sharing.

Coronet Sidewinder I & II in 1982: 'FF' Eagles in Holland (updated)
Between May 17th and June 4th Coronet Sidewinder I took place and brought 12 F-15A Eagles from 27TFS/1TFW 'FF' (yellow) from Langley AFB/Virginia to Gilze-Rijen AB in The Netherlands. This deployment was followed by a similar Coronet at Soesterberg in June which is uploaded later in this thread. A m...
