No objections to Little Snoring airfield yet . . . . so maybe!
New runway, hangars, control tower, fire tenders and crew, perimeter fencing, fuel storage. Don't think so personally.

Re: Ospreys over Budapest, Hungary

There is in the opening post - over Budapest, and on an exercise. Flypast is probably part of a PR opportunity. What more do you want?

Re: Turkey On The Attack?

Interestingly, for me anyway, Snoop 95 is yet to further comment after questioning the content but all fine by me. We're all the same Vulcan74. Cheers. The airspace over the mission areas must be busier than usual with at least 4 countries flying an assortment of airframes, satellites and drones so...

Re: Turkey On The Attack?

I guess " General Chat" may be the heading - on another forum I use, they have a section called Ruffled Feathers though political extremism and tribal disputes or greater, is a definite non starter.
Perhaps less is more on this thread now.

Re: Turkey On The Attack?

The posts read political, religious and extirpating to me...... but military airpower is a huge tool in modern warfare so surely falls under Fighter Control. Just mention an airframe or two or links to video footage of Turkish F16s on a mission.

F35s used in the mission. I appreciate it is against ISIS rather than the Thread Title.

And now investigating aircrew staying down the road (20 miles) at Turnberry Golf Course who offer discount deals and free golf for US service personnel. Hmmmmm, that or a Premier Inn.

Re: ITV series - Fighter Pilot, the real Top Gun

I thought the second episode demonstrated to me the amount of information, procedures and scrutiny that these trainees have to absorb, practice and apply under the most extreme physical and mental pressure. How they retain their composure is beyond a mere mortal like myself. Yes, they say how incred...

Re: ITV series - Fighter Pilot, the real Top Gun

Great insight into the training and abilities of this new aircraft. I think some commentators on FC forget that a lot of information is regarded as Classified and a highly skilled pilot and the technology still has certified limits. Looking forward to the next episode as well as visual observation o...

Re: ITV series - Fighter Pilot, the real Top Gun

If I saw it, no doubt many thousand others saw it, and how are the statement makers going to enforce that. Much ado about nothing. Looking forward to a modern day insight into fast jet flyers.

How about if several hundred FCers gathered along the Loop complete with Welsh and US flags to wave as the LN flights came through?
Waving should be fine, less chance of FOD, rather than a sea of distractive banners.

Re: US F15e pilot displays Welsh flag over Snowdonia

There probably are, but in all aspects of life, humans will have a bit of fun or occassionally stray away. Not for one minute would I think a crew member would jeopardise their life or the safety of the pilot and airframe. It is known they play music on board, alcohol in travel pods ( particularly n...

Re: US F15e pilot displays Welsh flag over Snowdonia

Maybe they have a slightly more relaxed approach once the mission is over and they're nearly home. Coupled with a PR angle towards winning friends and a moment of fun. Maybe a telling off or comment by the base commander but hopefully no harm done. Unlike the RAF Typhoon pilot and subsequent lack of...
