Flasheart, as I said, it is only my opinion and you are equally entitled to yours.

Maybe you could eloquently expand on why you think differently?

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2022 10th and 11th of September

I find the statement that the Duxford airshow will continue on Sunday insensitive when the nation, and world beyond, is expressing such a massive outpouring of grief following the sad death of Queen Elizabeth II yesterday. The whole country is in mourning for the Queen who gave so much to our Nation...

Dear Flightech. At the risk of being branded "boring" or castigated for going "off topic" as this is a thread dedicated to RIAT 2020 matters, please allow me to enlighten you with the regard to the existence, meaning and purpose of the NATO Tiger Meet (note accurate spelling). I'm sure there is a mo...

..steady James, you're drifitng "off topic"...ha ha ha... Headancer's point is sad but true and overlooked by most in consideration of the effect on 2020 and beyond. However, a number of staff would need to be retained to account for all the madness of ticket refunds which will probably drag on into...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2020 Discussion Thread

Hi Target, firstly, this isn't a criticism of your post. If RIAT had posted the following it would probably ease some of the concern people have about what the situation is:- "We are in a fast changing situation that will probably change almost daily. RIAT is four months away. Please be patient and ...

Hi Peasus.

Slightly off-topic I appreciate but where did you see the Shuttleworth statement relating to Coronovirus?

Re: AirPower Expo at Waddington

If static/night shots aren't for you, why whine on about having to pay to go and do it? The shoot yesterday was good value, particularly compared with similar events from this and past years. Although the aircraft present included a Puma and Typhoon the emphasis was on photographing the rarer/more i...

He may well have turned back before approaching Valley but he got close!

I told my contact on base he was approaching and he commented that the weather was awful and he wouldn't be able to see him anyway!

Dragon01

Dragon 01 Departed Fairford to Valley and returning to Fairford presently (1048), requested R27 full stop.

He DID go a little bit West I guess but now home sweet home....

Re: Viewfinder blur d7200

Hi Supra. We've all dropped or banged our cameras at some point, unfortunately modern digital cameras are a little more prone to issues due to their reliance on electronic wizardry, composite construction and tighter tolerances. Although I am a Canon user, I would suggest getting in touch with H. Le...

Re: First time RIAT group thread?

Hi Chris, if the weather is anything like RIAT18 it will certainly be the highlight of your aviation year!...despite what "Nay sayers" go on about each year RIAT approaches, it's always a fantastic spectacle and well worth the asking price-particularly as it supports a worthwhile charity. Although y...

Re: RIAT post Mildenhall closure

Hello everybody. Reading through the pessimistic comments regarding RIAT's future after Mildenhall closure has inspired me to add my idea of what I think may occur- this is only my unbiased opinion as is everybody's. It's obvious that RAF Fairford will certainly gain some permanently based aircraft ...

F106 Dart, I guess you overlooked the fact that the F35s we have recently put into service will be a combined RAF/Royal Navy asset?

Just saying.

Re: REDS at RIAT & other airshows

I saw the Reds a number of times over the RIAT weekend and actually thought they (for once) were blessed with weather that suited their performance, outstanding capabilities and formations. I thought their formations were particularly tight throughout the weekend, the "bomb burst" on Sunday was imma...

Specific response to "The Cat" regarding various viewing facilities, based on personal experience. I am a perennial FRIAT member but missed out this year as I left my application too late. I therefore booked P&V (West) tickets for Tuesday & Thursday, later adding Wednesday when I saw what the weathe...

Re: RIAT 2018 Awards

The comments relating to the RIAT 2018 awards are very interesting. I was confused as others were by some of the awards and felt the judges (whoever they were) had a biased opinion of some sort, I was fortunate enough to be at RIAT for seven days so saw all the displays at least once. That said, the...
