Re: Viewfinder blur d7200

Hi Supra. We've all dropped or banged our cameras at some point, unfortunately modern digital cameras are a little more prone to issues due to their reliance on electronic wizardry, composite construction and tighter tolerances. Although I am a Canon user, I would suggest getting in touch with H. Le...

Re: First time RIAT group thread?

Hi Chris, if the weather is anything like RIAT18 it will certainly be the highlight of your aviation year!...despite what "Nay sayers" go on about each year RIAT approaches, it's always a fantastic spectacle and well worth the asking price-particularly as it supports a worthwhile charity. Although y...

Re: RIAT post Mildenhall closure

Hello everybody. Reading through the pessimistic comments regarding RIAT's future after Mildenhall closure has inspired me to add my idea of what I think may occur- this is only my unbiased opinion as is everybody's. It's obvious that RAF Fairford will certainly gain some permanently based aircraft ...

F106 Dart, I guess you overlooked the fact that the F35s we have recently put into service will be a combined RAF/Royal Navy asset?

Just saying.

Re: REDS at RIAT & other airshows

I saw the Reds a number of times over the RIAT weekend and actually thought they (for once) were blessed with weather that suited their performance, outstanding capabilities and formations. I thought their formations were particularly tight throughout the weekend, the "bomb burst" on Sunday was imma...

Specific response to "The Cat" regarding various viewing facilities, based on personal experience. I am a perennial FRIAT member but missed out this year as I left my application too late. I therefore booked P&V (West) tickets for Tuesday & Thursday, later adding Wednesday when I saw what the weathe...

Re: RIAT 2018 Awards

The comments relating to the RIAT 2018 awards are very interesting. I was confused as others were by some of the awards and felt the judges (whoever they were) had a biased opinion of some sort, I was fortunate enough to be at RIAT for seven days so saw all the displays at least once. That said, the...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2018 Discussion Thread

I can't believe the naive expectations of some of the contributors to this thread, relating to the perennial issue of what will or won't be going to RIAT. This year's line up so far is fantastic as mentioned by others in the thread and RIAT continues to be the best military air show in the world des...

Re: Marham ASCOT 9511 F-35B Arrival 6 June 2018

Paul 1978. Regarding the Air Fete's, I am assuming you mean the ones at Mildenhall primarily, although there were some great shows at Upper Heyford and Alconbury too. I know it's slightly off-topic but in response to your question about them "being the same", undoubtedly not, as they were halcyon da...

Re: Marham ASCOT 9511 F-35B Arrival 6 June 2018

Does anybody think there may be an outside chance of an RAF 100 sticker on one of the new "Stealth jets" as the BBC called them last night they are active within the required period? It could easily be removed when the aircraft goes into action which will be some time I would think. Surely they will...

Re: Bellaria-Igea Marina Air Show 2018

Coldwater. As mentioned, your shots make a big difference as they are mainly aircraft in active settings giving the impression of being there! There is no such thing as a "perfect" photograph, but your shots really do portray the scene well and I for one was pleased to see them as they are different...

Re: Mildenhall 3 June Lancer 96 and Demon 11

As others have said, we had all made mistakes with camera settings over the years, in the "old days" of transparency film it was even more frustrating to get your prized (and costly, compared to digital) shots back for review only to find you'd done something horribly wrong, usually affecting the be...

Re: 107FW A-10's at The Hall.

Nice shots of the A10's, particularly like the special anniversary scheme, it's so whacky it's good! What a pity the weather spoilt things once more, particularly after the good spell of weather we have all enjoyed. I guess timing is everything. Just as a matter of interest, why was Mildenhall prefe...

All.

Can anybody summarise what was discussed at The Forum?

It would be great to understand whether any recommendations or new ideas from either party were forthcoming and will be implemented.

Re: Coningsby 16th Feb!

Dust spots, or more difficult to remove spots, are a real problem even when most cameras have a "Sensor clean" program as it only vibrates the sensor and spots can remain even after numerous "cleans"...ask me how I know! If it persists, I would advise sending it, or taking it, to H Lehmann in Stoke ...

Re: USA Trip - December 2017

Hi Jason, some great shots, photography in the US always throws up some great opportunities and good looking aircraft still abound if you know where to go, even civilian airfields have little gems sometimes as you discovered. I am off to the US soon and wondered if you could confirm the shots at El ...
