Herc

Yesterday (24/08/23) about 10:30 saw a Herc low level heading up the valley from Abergavenny in the direction of crickhowell, was behind trees so only had a quick glimpse and couldnt make out markings or even colour.
I've never seen American Hercs down this way so are we still running a couple?

Re: Russia to create new 'elite' attack aviation group?

If we all start being verbose, the Russian bots have trouble translating... they need to know how crap everyone thinks they are The Invasion of Ukraine seems to have heralded an era of warfare through memes, and trolling of the enemy, adding to existent propaganda/disinformation tactics, its all a ...

Re: Russia to create new 'elite' attack aviation group?

Everyone's elite when the bar is low... they should call it.... 🇺🇦 🌻 🇺🇦 Not the best choice of word in my opinion x. Can’t you try to be a little more erudite? Re: Vulcan - Wellesbourne 16/09/22

Like many of us here, I too have read the reports, and seen the video footage, of this near disaster. What is most disconcerting to me is the cavalier approach by those at Wellesbourne Airfield who thought it safe and acceptable to proceed:- - fast-taxi this airplane with only the Airspeed Indicato...

Re: Boscombe down ecureuil over Portsmouth area

Everyone I know in civvie world calls their AS350s squirrels too, perhaps not in print but whenever talking about them.
Fairly sure it was simply the pronunciation difficulty that brought it about and it has stuck.

Quick question on RAF A400Ms...has there been much in the way of actual mission deployment?, I've only ever seen them doing UK flights that were obviously training sorties

Re: USAF operated types not exported

U2 was sold to and operated by Taiwan Whilst you are correct the AC130 has not been sold elsewhere, the C130 has so would come under that as the main type rather than a sub type, plus as said in the original piece Fast Jets is what we were discussing at the time but I thank all the contributors to ...

Re: F15s Showing their age ! !

I imagine a lot of it will be Avionics and other Electrical systems, over time things like Capacitors dry out and the more delicate components succumb to the 1000s of hours of vibration.
Anything from original build that's still present will be well tired now
