Re: NATO Future

The annual Presidential Address to the US Congress is early tomorrow morning (02.00 GMT), so there you go, all of us followers of US politics will be glued to the box. NATO may well get a mention. NATO - for the short / medium term I think things will remain as is, the Europeans I hope are stepping...

Re: NATO Future

Even if the USA did leave NATO (highly unlikely imo), then I doubt they would abandon their bases here in the UK, Trump might make Starmer do some more A**e licking to salve his ego before signing some sort of 'deal'
keeping the 'special relationship' alive

Re: Turkey to buy 48 Eurofighter Typhoon

Turkey signed the new build F-16 deal with the US last June. https://thedefensepost.com/2024/06/13/turkey-us-f16-deal/ Thanks, It was always extremely unlikely that they would be refused, even more unlikely that they would get Typhoons instead The Typhoon deal I believe is separate from F-16 deal s...

Re: Turkey to buy 48 Eurofighter Typhoon

IF not alrady a done deal then Trump will sign the deal, Turkey will get its F16s The same man who stopped the shipment of their first F-35 at point of delivery, kicked them out of the entire programme and applied sanctions to them? The first time one NATO member has ever sanctioned another? Turkey...

Re: Iran launch ballistic missiles at Israel

Yep Israel has succeeded in drawing Iran fully into the conflict. Now we are totally off topic unless damaging a sun shelter counts, so please confirm Israel has drawn Iran into the conflict by allowing the islamic republic to fully finance, train & arm every bunch of murderers in the region? Every...

Re: Iran launch ballistic missiles at Israel

Not much about Aviation in this thread! Agree, the word 'airstrike' has nothing to do with military aviation obviously :'( on a much more serious note, a large scale war in the middle east will have untold effects on aircraft movements in the UK and other areas so I think you will find many members...

Herc

Yesterday (24/08/23) about 10:30 saw a Herc low level heading up the valley from Abergavenny in the direction of crickhowell, was behind trees so only had a quick glimpse and couldnt make out markings or even colour.
I've never seen American Hercs down this way so are we still running a couple?

Re: Russia to create new 'elite' attack aviation group?

If we all start being verbose, the Russian bots have trouble translating... they need to know how crap everyone thinks they are The Invasion of Ukraine seems to have heralded an era of warfare through memes, and trolling of the enemy, adding to existent propaganda/disinformation tactics, its all a ...
