Re: Coningsby opening time week commencing 26th October

Hope we get some decent weather for the day's activities, as I'm over in Spilsby on a few visits this week.

Hope the weather holds good; even so, it'll be dark for 7pm.
NB it's 'Houchin'. Would Waddington VASS not already have this capability?

Re: Gate Guard question

Some of the Sqns at Laarbruch had preserved airframes (20 Sqn with Hunter) but never a Jag outside SHQ I just posed the question on the Laarbruch FB group and it would seem Laarbruch didn’t have a GG so that was definitely Bruggen I was thinking of! It was 30 years ago and alcohol may have blurred ...

Re: Saying goodbye to RAF Marham's Victor

Whaaaaat? Have QRs changed in the last 20 years? OK I was not a regular but as an ex-ATC WO I find that appalling. I'm totally with you! As an ex RAF Aircraft Engineering Technician, spending 4 great years at Marham on 55 Sqn, and culminating my career as a WO, the Stn Cdr would certainly get a tim...

Lovely images!
The Germans surpass most countries with their 'specials'; my mind even goes back to the good old 'Tiger meets...'
That Tornado about to line-up with the lights is really something special Zonan.

Re: Waddington log 5-9th October

A good log Mike.
Sadly, it indicates the sparse activity at this base nowadays.
With more in/out movement at Cranwell, almost guaranteed activity and variety at Coningsby, alongside the formation training at Scampton, there's not a lot to stop for currently...

Why not just buy a new car every 3 yrs or less, and don't worry? I don't worry 40 odd yrs as vehicle Techy do my own work then I know its right, just think how much you loose as soon as a new car its the road and what you get when you part exchange some people have money to throw away. I guess that...

Flu jabs are the tip of an ever melting iceberg...Covid, Brexit, Russians funding the conservative party, unless you missed that Monday when BJ got his professors to scare the hell out of everyone and divert attention. While some restrictions are probably needed, maybe not all those we have now, st...

I was there on that day too.
A RAF Veteran of all of 2yrs!
Sadly, I had more of an eye for the ladies at the time than I did for aircraft, although I got a good view of both as I recall...
What a great treat to view some of these frames again.

Re: The perfect place to chill following 6 months of mayhem

Wonderful images.
We try to do the west coast, north of Loch Lomond to just beyond the Kyle every other year.
I don't think there is much to match the photographic potential for landscapes elsewhere within the UK.
Slightly inbound to Rannoch is stunning too.
