Re: Top five aircraft moments

Life in the light-blue uniform allowed me many highlights, including: 1. Performing Ground Runs on Nimrod MR1/2 aircraft fleet. 2. Performing the 'multi-engine' rapid combust start and engine runs on the Victor K2 fleet. 3. A 2hr back seat sortie in a Tornado at low level from Goose Bay Labrador, wi...

Thanks Gary
I have to travel 1day to the Spilsby area, so it will be nice to hopefully see a little activity in the distance.
The other times, sat at home on the computer, the scanner will be on and active.

Re: Handly Page Victors

Absolutely fabulous.
Great to see the 55Sqn tail flash, - my Sqn at Marham from 84-86
Fabulous memories, great times in Ascension Island too.
Very probably worked on each of those.
A highlight was doing Conway engine runs (massive power) - and especially the rapid 'combust start'.

Re: RAF Display Jaguars - '89 onwards

What a great compilation of images and data.
I really enjoyed the read and looking at those.
Nice to see the Groundcrew too, at least one face I recognise!
Great to see the "Bathtaps of Power" rightly positioned in the same photo too...👍😎

Re: WHY WHY WHY

Yep, the change in weather advertises some idiots.
I was on the motorway late Friday, absolutely lashing with rain; still, some fool rushes by at 70+ outside lane, wipers at double speed and with the rear fog light on!

...If for your mental health, you need to see some aircraft, then I would argue that is an essential journey.
I might suggest that if you suffer mental health issues because you need to see some aircraft, you may want to see a Dr in the first instance. :(

Nice to hear the activity last night.
ADSB showed Nightmare 21/22 overhead Louth at 265kts and 2200ft at about 7:45.
That'll have the locals out pointing skyward at the 'heavier than air machines'...
More of the same please boys and girls.

A lovely set of images, indeed in super light.
Your image of "The Spirit of Ayre" is particularly poignant, as I had the privilege of working alongside Tony Ayre during our time together at Waddington.
On this, of all days, rest in peace my friend.
