Wen you do the 'share' option, you have to pick the BBCode option, Not SHARE e.g. Your last would look something like this:- [img https: //l ive.staticflickr .com/65535/54488532862_18 af3f42d4_b.jpg[/img] [url=https: //flic .kr/p/2r1XYt9 ]Buccaneer S2B Dirty Harriet - '91 (1)[/url] by Michael Britto...

Re: USA April/May 1975
On my honeymoon, in 1987, we started at Leningrad and went south to 'The Stans' In Tashkent, from our hotel room, I saw an AWACS-style IL-76 taking off. No way would she let me even look at it through the longer lens! (She knew my finger might slip) On about the 4th circuit, I did manage, but it was...

Re: USS Midway Museum, San Diego - 3 April 2025
Great set of images. Actually I beg to differ, I think it's a very practical idea to dual mark the fighters, primarily considering the limited amount of space topside, and it adds to the variety of amazing colour schemes the USN adorned their aircraft in the 1960's & 70's. Believe me, it could be w...

Re: Barksdale Global power museum March 2025
Great set from a great place.
This museum has been on my bucket list for a long time. But at 77, I'm running out of time, insurance is going sky-high (as are fares) and now we have the trade war,
I might just have to settle for looking at other people's photos

The only aircraft I could see carrying two different colour schemes were the F4 and F14. They carried the same serial number.however, on both aides in 2014 https://live.staticflickr.com/7108/14013619306_d12a6d66aa_b.jpg 153030 McDonnell F-4N Phantom msn 1557 101/NE VF-21 by eLaReF , on Flickr and h...

Re: 1975 First months
The KC-97 serials are prefixed Zero- not Oh- where the zero means over 10 years old and was to prevent duplication as airframes started to last longer than 10 years Unfortunately one author who was respected and should have known better, wrote that it was Oh for Obsolescent. That was then copied by ...

Re: USS Midway Museum, San Diego - 3 April 2025
Great Pix Was there in Oct. '23 for a second visit. Nice collection, but I wish they wouldn't paint different sides of the same aircraft in different schemes (and serial numbers) Main reason I needed to go back was the Cutlass, not having seen one before https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/532915388...

Lost back in time I searched for answers as to what the 'hump' on 63-13500 was for. Apart from a link to a better, later image of it at Soccorro I failed miserably! 1974 MASDC where the whole fleet apart from 3 early write-offs and one NASA one were parked https://live.staticflickr.com/8056/80832761...

This was it in Pima in 1974 before Pima was officially open. It had obviously had a make-over by the time of your visit https://live.staticflickr.com/8399/8678412307_efbf5c7873_b.jpg 53-3982 Martin RB-57D Canberra c/n 14622 by eLaReF , on Flickr But why would the museum paint it Black & White now?

Aahh OK I hadn't realised there was more than 1 of each!! If you asked,I would say I was sure I photographed everything that was in the static, but even 50 years ago I toured Pima before it was open, photographed everything (I thought) in sight, only years later to find out I had missed a C-133 (Not...

My Planeplotter showed ZK019 doing the approach because I manually MLAT'd it, else it dropped off the radar at about 2,500ft
I lost another south of EDI at 5,000 ft, but it may have been ZK019 just leaping about a bit as a plot
