Re: Top Gun Maverick

Saw this last night on a Sky VIP ticket.

Unfortunately me and the wife were last into the screen and had the front row neck aching seats.

But that was pure amazing. Possibly the best film I’ve seen since I first watched Top Gun. Strap in. Enjoy the ride.

Yes, but the question specifically asked “what Avro produced aircraft”.
I’m stupid and didn’t read all the question properly.

Re: Weekly quiz (do not reply)

Nice idea. But I’m sure in the event of the Cold War turning hot in 1962. Victors, Vulcans and Valiants would be striking back against the USSR. Not just the Vulcan.

Re: Woodvale 2021 Logs/Movements

Wish I'd seen these movements into Sywnnerton earlier. I'd have taken a runndown to see if I could catch them going in.

I'll certainly keep an eye out on this section in the future.

Re: RAF Coningsby Frequency list 2019

Getting Typhoon coms on 298.975 again, a little digging suggests this could be Holbeach Secondary freq, but *** 31 has just advised he is leaving Donna at FL110, which ties in with the Typhoon seen orbiting Donna for the past 30 mins. I have 298.975 saved as Coningsby Tower in my scanner. The cavea...

And here was me expecting this to be a light hearted thread on what your facial hair and head hair looks like due to no barbers / hairdressers being open.

Top one appears to be theatre made if it is it will be around the £10-15 mark.

Although the only reference I've found to the 3-227th is a UH-60 unit. Don't know if they flew AH-64's before. Edit - seems the AH-64 was deployed by the3-227th in Desert Storm.

The other two a couple of quid each

1. 'Stay at home' has now become 'Be Alert' - leaving home was never illegal per sé.
Leaving home without reasonable excuse, was and still is an offence under the Covid-19 legislation.

Re: Planes spotters at Kemble despite lockdown

if they were really interesting aircraft, which you might be able to see only “once in a lifetime” I could understand. And here is the issue. If you start making exemptions for 'once in a lifetime' then there is no point in having restrictions at all. Yes it might suck, but does missing out on seei...

Yeah someone just dusted off the plans for the RAH-66 Comanche and gave them to their five year old who drew a big propeller onto the rear.

Re: Deptford Down 5-6 Feb 20

Must get to SPTA again some time soon, didn't get down at all last year.

Wessex Storm happens a few times a year. Unless Deptford is being used as part of the ex, I'd suggest it's just business as usual there.

Re: MOD Stafford

I'm always happy to see anything local.

I'm semi-regularly (read training courses a few times a year) next door to MOD Stafford, often hear helicopters heading in, never quite see them.

Up in the wild norths of Stoke I never seem to pick any RT up from Stafford.

Re: Deptford Down or Everleigh SPTA.

Google is your friend.

There are some good guides on here as well. I think it's all kept a bit 'Q' due to the close proximity of the action, preventing it becoming a Mach Loop tourist attraction.

A good OS map helps as well.

You will have more not with viewing sitting on CAD East or West in the loop. Same as last year.
No sign of the Tornados through CAD air Corris today though...
