Some corkers there, the pick of which is the SHAR rippling off the rockets.

Re: Woodford Airshow 1990's
Sadly I only ever got to Woodford once and that was back in the '80s before it moved up a league and began attracting this calibre of foreign visitors.

Not at all, esp. as I missed that one being away on holiday in the sun. My dad went and from what he told me you could have done with some sun and I can see why. Looks like there were some interesting a/c there tho' esp that Belizes badged Harrier.

Some of the nicest Osprey pics I've seen. You were lucky with the light conditions.

Re: F-15e's
Very, very nice. Is the white lettering on the nose of the jets the names of the Mi Amigo crew? On the TV broadcast the 48th's CO mentioned that a jet or jets in the flypast would be carrying them and it does look like an inscription.

Re: RAF Honnington - July 1991
Where the HAS shelters built for the Tornado. If I remember right the Tornado's wasn't there for long. Definitely. The TWCU was established about '82 followed by IX Sqn. - 1st operational unit, which subsequently went to Germany. The Regt. moved down from Catterick around '93 or '94 if memory serve...

Excellent results from that range. At least you were nt shooting into the sun which made for challenging conditions esp as the flightpath was basically directly out of it.

That 1st. pic is of author/photographer Ian Black's a/c @ the '88 Air Fete which was the last time the type was on static display. Also, that's a fine F3 pic which captures the type perfectly.

I can almost smell the Avtur. You obviously had a good vantage point. #13 is my favourite as it includes two different types with the attack heli clearly riding shotgun.

Re: Tornado Farewell at Cranfield
It is clear from the massive turnouts at all the venues just what an absolute aviation icon Tornado was and how much she'll be missed. The crowd in the 2nd pic is unbelievable.

Pure aviation history gold. Not a jet in sight. How that scene changed in the next decade.

Tornados @ Linton Down the Years
Following yesterday's Tornado farewell flypast @ Linton, here's a random selection of the many Tornados which have appeared there down the years, usually @ Graduations or Autumn Fayres. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7844/47159898561_36a2bb1e48_b.jpg Linton - Tornados TTTE by Michael Britton , on Fl...

This must be the most widely photographed Tornado formation ever, and quite rightly too, and seems like the weather was pants everywhere.

Nice catch Pete. Shame about the weather I thought as I watched it on BBC Look North last night. Glad I did nt bother coming up as there did nt appear room for another car on that jam packed road. Wish I had £1 for every Tonka I've seen @ Linton down the years.

Re: RAF Finningley airshow 1969
When my Dad died I rescued all his pics and old airshow programmes. He was a regular Finningley attendee. It was a long shot but went straight to the '69 programme which was just a double paper sheet, probably an insert from the RAF yearbook. Anyway here are 3 of the 4 sides. It is clear from the sh...

Re: RAF Finningley airshow 1969
These are absolutely priceless. What a shame they were the only ones saved from what must have been a very interesting collection. The presence of the research a/c @ Finningley is explained by the fact that prior to the establishment of the RAF museum each RAF Station was charged with the care and m...
