That Hurricane shot is spectacular and the Me-108 most atmospheric.

Re: Mildenhall show 2001

'Those were the days my friend. We thought they'd never end.' as Mary Hopkin once sang. We certainly never thought it would be the last one but what a show to end on! I certainly never experienced such a tailback, almost back to Shippea Hill on the northern approach. In the end we turned around and ...

Re: Lakenheath 27/8/1988

Having just done the above post I turned my attention to locating some pics of this show and, fortunately located them straight away for once. Ignore the mistaken year in the captions. Just a word about the P-51 Mustang. If the scheme looks familiar you've probably seen it in Spielberg's 'Empire of ...

Air Fete '85 - F-4E & F-104Gs + Tooms + Mirage from '87

Came across these on an old cd. Not the best quality but great subjects. Fairly sure it was the '86 event. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50534510336_df35a0d69f_h.jpg Air Fete '86 - USAF F-4C by Michael Britton , on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50533782073_e731740f3d_h.jpg Ai...

Sad end of Tornado F3 ZE204 @ Manston

While watching Forces TV News on Thurs 15 Oct. I witnessed the sad end of Tornado F3 ZE204, set ablaze to provide Fire + Rescue Training for budding RAF firefighters. I searched my F3 photo collection but only found the three pics shared below, all taken @ Leeming down the yrs. Our paths first cross...

Former Lightning Gate guard

A friend who was recently on holiday in Northumberland sent me some pics of the F-4 gate guard. When I first visited in '91 they had a lovely Lightning in 29 Sqn. mks. and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what happened to it when it was replaced?
