Re: Exclusive Interview: RAF Typhoon Aggressor Sqns incl New Scheme

Any update on this new scheme? I do check the picture logs every so often and haven't noticed anything discernibly different.

I may be wrong, but are 9 squadron the unit designated to be 'aggressors' in terms of the Typhoon force?

Can anyone tell me wether 41 Sqdn are receiving any F-35Bs? I guess probably not but thought I would ask anyway.
I don't think they are. All test and evaluation is being carried out by 17sqn.

Re: F35 Manufacturer delivery

Are all 138 to be based at Marham? I'd say it's unlikely that the RAF would ever have 138 at any one time. If they do commit to purchasing 138, then early batches may be retired as new batches come in. All guess work though. They may yet still split the F-35 purchase into A and B variants with some...

Coningsby Question

Evening all

Can anyone tell me what's currently going on with the construction on the ASP?

Obviously it's aircraft shelters going up, but does anyone know how many, who they're for and why they've decided to build them?

Many thanks in advance.

USMC Deployment

Apparently a squadron of USMC F-35s are due next year in order to train on the QE/PoW.

Has anyone else heard rumblings of this?

Very aware that it is just a rumour at the moment, but it does hold some credence and would make sense with the work up to the QE deployment with the USMC in 2021.

Re: Exclusive Interview: RAF Typhoon Aggressor Sqns incl New Scheme

Did anyone manage to get a copy last month and see what the new scheme was going to be?

I have heard it was going to be something along the lines of a darker tone all grey with unpainted sections. No idea how true this is.

Re: Construction work

Google Earth? I'm afraid not. Google Earth satellite imagery updates are sporadic I'm afraid. You'll find much more frequent satellite image updates posted here: https://eos.com/landviewer/?lat=52.47860&lng=1.08215&z=9 With a free account you'll be able to see up to 10 low resolution images, but be...

Re: Construction work

Jason, there is some satellite imagery available online dated from last week, however the resolution for now is not really ample enough to provide a clear image of the finished works.

If and when something better becomes available, I will post a link/screenshots here.

Re: Marham Ascot 9711 Flight 16-7-19

Blasphemy to some, but I have to say I think they look tremendously smart with the lightning flash and codes. It's not quite the squadron markings that we all hope for, but it's something. If they can do this, then it bodes well for further markings in the future, even if they aren't as colourful as...

28/02/2019 - RAF Marham

Does anyone have the serials for the 2 F-35's that departed around 16:30 after the Tornado event?

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Current RAF aircraft

Hi Rugby. I appreciate all of your posts on aviation related matters but when it comes to the political ones, they aren't so good unfortunately. Agent K has already correctly tried to steer you to the actual facts of the matter. Regardless of whether you believe or don't believe we will be better of...

Re: Current RAF aircraft

Tony, please don't try and state facts at these people. They don't listen.

I don't wish for threads to become political, but anyone who seriously expects there to be money available if the United Kingdom leaves with no deal is beyond logic.

Cranfield Lightning

Does anyone know the current status of the Lightning at Cranfield?

I know they have run fast taxi runs in the past. Is it now a permanent non-mover?

Re: F-35 Batch 3 Arrival

What makes you think any of this batch must be for 617 squadron? It sounds to me more like these aircraft will all be for 207 squadron. I don't think that. Had you read properly I'm sure you would have gathered that, too. I would imagine all of the aircraft transiting over will be for 207 as well.

Re: F-35 Batch 3 Arrival

For the life of me I can't remember where I read this, but supposedly another batch is due in June/July of this year. Further to this, the OC of 207 squadron has posted this on Twitter. https://twitter.com/OC207Sqn/status/1129027330490413056 So another batch is due sometime this Summer. Numbers to ...

F-16 Deployment

All rumours and hearsay at the moment, but... Unconfirmed reports came to our desk this evening. It is said that "FM" coded F-16C/Ds of Homestead/Regional-ARS (FL) will deploy to RAF Lakenheath (UK) on 3 May 2019. That means that the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) 482nd Fighter Wing, 93rd Fighter ...
