Re: LOG: Middle Wallop 7/9/22

Anyone know how long they're likely to stick around? I'm hoping to head into that neck of the woods around Tuesday/Wednesday next week.

Typhoon nav lights - night ops

Hi, Quick question from a local at Lossiemouth that I do not know the exact answer for... During night time ops, Typhoons have been seen to have flashing nav lights, single blink, sometimes double blink and some have steady nav lights or a mixture of both (in a pair) - does anyone know the differenc...

Re: John's Field Re-opening July 04 The Rules

I gather there may have been some issues with entry earlier today. Has anyone had issues please? Seems there could have been a gate damaged. I was there all day more or less Wednesday, no issues that I recall seeing. There was someone in constructing some sort of scaffolding next to the toilets lat...

Re: RC-135U Combat Sent

This one has just gone back into Mildenhall tonight. Thanks, yes I caught it OTT from my home in Aberdeenshire, which has reignited my need to get down there - time is right for me (days are just about long enough still, I'm on 3 weeks of leave and I'll be busier later in the year) https://i.imgur....

RC-135U Combat Sent

Hi, Hoping to visit Mildenhall from Aberdeenshire on Monday/Tuesday next week - hoping to catch a RC-135U whilst I'm down there. I've seen them on 360R quite often - is there one based at Mildenhall at the moment? (Are they both there?) and is it likely I'll catch one across the two days? Thanks :th...

Hello peeps, are there any toilet facilities available for visitors to Johns field yet, I believe new ones were being built?
Cheers
Pune
Any update to the toilet situation?

I note the earlier comment about the facilities out by the 5way roundabout

Lossie Typhoons Divert/Bolthole to Kinloss 11/08/20

They were planned to come over at some point this week anyway for the bolthole whilst the runway at Lossiemouth is getting strengthened/resurfaced. JEDI flight diverted due to the haar coming in over Lossiemouth - made a few attempts to land with poor vis at Lossiemouth before bugging out and landin...

RAF C17 at Aberdeen / Dyce 25.05.16

Got a heads up about this one, made a dash for it with only 3 mins to get set up and positioned and a few test shots taken of a departing Air France E175 before I could see it on approach. https://c3.staticflickr.com/8/7794/26634160274_9497ce49f7_n.jpg RAF C17 "Ascot 822" ZZ172 by Jonathan Ruxton , ...

Icelandic Coastguard at Aberdeen 05/01/2016

I hope this is allowed as it is a government aircraft! A very miserable day yesterday, must've changed my mind about going to get this one about 8 times before I eventually went. I stayed in the car until the last minute to save me getting soaked. Best picture I got, a couple of crows decided to get...

Hi Jonay, taken from the 16 end.Crash gate track or up on the hill beside the reservoir(road to Overton Garage)?.Good shots of an unusual visitor.Cheers. Up on the Overton road :) I knew it would be doing some approaches and go arounds, so I didn't bother at my usual spot at Falck. Just my luck that...

Gauntlet 58 A400M @ Dyce

I received a tipoff that an A400M would be practicing a few instrument approaches into EGPD Aberdeen/Dyce today, so I dashed out to the airport and about 1145 she turned up, first a VOR NDB approach and then an ILS, going around both times. Sadly I was concentrating on geting the "right" exposure fo...

My JW15 contribution (with some locals added in)

Not the most diverse set you'll see, I only had 4 hours up at Lossie last Thursday to catch the below. With some of the local Typhoons added in too. Tornado shot isn't my best but I thought I'll still include it. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/731/21485579374_eee7e158bd_n.jpg P-8 Poseidon "437" Clim...

I've got one, (Hero2) but I've had no problems.

The free software for editing videos is fantastic considering it's free.

Re: Duxford... Sun at an Airshow!?

Fantastic images.

I was in Manchester driving up to Aberdeen that day, I was tempted to nip in past on the way home, but the Mrs wasn't so keen! :(

I'll guilt her by showing these images :)
