Re: Countdown to Looking Glass

During the Cold War, General Horrocks wrote a book titled 'World War 3'. In it he predicted that it would start in the Middle East. Looks like he wasn't wrong! So did Nostradamus. Who'd have thought majors wars would occur in a mineral rich, trade centric area of the world where everyone through th...

Honington infrastructure has gone as far as I recall. Most of this thread is pie in the sky anyway.
I do tend to agree :pop:
Indeed. Even calling it a rumour gives it more credibility than it warrents. My guess is that someone made it up, just for the fun of the reaction.

Eye of the beholder and all that, but I think the Raider carries a certain ethereal beauty, as well as being enormously impressive as a design.

This may be a 'Marmite' topic, but are there any other aesthetic opinions out there...? :)

Re: Top Guns Inside The RAF

There have been a number of documentary series about the RAF over the years; without doubt, this is the most absorbing, informative, entertaining and emotionally involving. The rememberance day parade feature (and the context around it) in episode 2 was beautifully put together; emotional, relevant,...

Re: Cobra Warrior 23-2

You would not have got the WAVE if it were not for the fate that (almost) befell my father, and the RAF project officers that subsequently agreed to do with the old WW2 dispersal over the road from the A15 where the WAVE is now. That was after various companies like BAE, Boeing and Northrop Grumman...

Re: RAF Falcons cleared on C17

Apparently the RAF Falcons Parachute Team are now cleared to drop from the C17. I wonder if it will be doing a low level flypast over / behind the assembled team for a final salute like the C130 used to do ? Don't hold your breath for that one. They might have been cleared to drop from a C-17, but ...
