R1nger,
#I think it was General John Frost (of Bridge too far fame) that wrote the WW3 books back in the mid '80s.
I have a feeling that Gen Horrocks was no longer with us by then, having died in 1985.
I came across the book when I was serving in Germany 1976 to 1979 so it was by Horrocks

Re: Countdown to Looking Glass

During the Cold War, General Horrocks wrote a book titled 'World War 3'. In it he predicted that it would start in the Middle East. Looks like he wasn't wrong!

Re: Ascot8133 15/05

Historically ASCOT stood for Air Support Command Operational Transport, it would therefore follow that the civvy was on charter to the RAF and flown by an RAF crew on a military mission.

OE-LVA GA5C M Jet Aviation GmbH

According to my records, this is based in Russia :ninja: : should it have been impounded?
It looks as if nearly half of the M Jet fleet is based at Moscow Vnukovo as are many other 'innocent' looking business jets. :ninja:

I wonder how long before they have to rotate home for servicing, perhaps they will replace them or maybe continue the deployment with a TDY rotation until things out east settle down?
