Well they'll be better protected than at Brize. ;)

Re: Prestwick to host Voyager fleet (Brize Runway works)

Why not use Lynha... oh yeh! Still great news for us up here, but I don't think the troops based at Brize with families there will be happy.

Re: Carlisle Tornado

I'm an oldie as well and you piqued my interest.Saw my first one in 80/81 doing a touch and go at Wattisham when I was working out at the runway one evening. Haven't got a pic of it on digital but got it on slides as JL with 27 in 93 and FH with 12 in 99.

Tac Blaze 25 week 2

Spent Mon-Wed at the range this week. Monday was a washout as the first flights of the day went tech. Tue and Wed were great with some cracking low passes. 1 https://i.postimg.cc/85jhxtB3/TB2-01.jpg 2 https://i.postimg.cc/W4pmw2Ds/TB2-02.jpg 3 https://i.postimg.cc/HLSwSf5X/TB2-03.jpg 4 https://i.pos...

It's only carrying one acquisition round, so I doubt it's a QRA

Tac Blaze 25 Week 1

The Dutch are back for their annual visit to Spadeadam. I went down on Tuesday and got there around 10 AM only to discover they are night flying and nothing happened till 5 PM when 2 Apaches came and worked the range, but they didn't come anywhere near me. Then 2 Chinooks turned up, working the same...

Hi Alan, nice to catch up with you and a few other folk during the day. A long day with a bit of a reward right at the end.

Otterburn Feb/Mar 25

A few pics of some heli action from Otterburn so far this year. Despite being on my doorstep I've somehow managed to miss the 2 exercises this year and only caught the tail end of them. The Wildcats are from February and the Apaches left earlier this week. 1 https://i.postimg.cc/rsthNRJM/ott1.jpg 2 ...

Would have been nice to see them at Sennybridge or Pembrey for a final time. Great memories of them at both locations . Farewell to the Puma. Thank you for your service .
Or Otterburn, they spent plenty of time there.

Lossie 17-19 March

Whilst mainly interested in getting the Italians, there were of course the resident aircraft to photograph and a few visitors as well. I got 12 Typhoons in all but only 5 had Sqn markings and I won't bother with posting all the grey ones. This was my first chance to see the RAF's P8 up close as well...

Anyone know what are the two bumps/lumps either side of the spine just forward of the tail on the 41 Sqn jet and the one in the pic below it?

Re: Italian F35's at Lossie

Thunder, oh well I didn't miss anything by not doing Thursday. The taxiway was out due to repairs. Cheers Al, catch up with you when the Dutch come hopefully. Malcy I did enjoy my trip back up there, so I hope there will be more stuff coming in the future to tempt me up. There's not much activity at...

Italian F35's at Lossie

With the Italian F35's at Lossie I decided to take a trip up after a 5 year gap since I was last there. I was there from Mon-Wed but they didn't fly on the Monday, wish I'd done Tue-Thurs instead. My first encounter with the F35 up close and the residents of Lossie dodged a bullet, when the plan to ...

Re: RAF Spadeadam - Exercise Lightning Force + Unexpected Visitors!

Nice set Danny. I was watching on ADSB yesterday and was thinking of going down today but the weather put me off. Pity, as it looks like there was a Navy Wildcat working the range today as well.
