I think they should let the inmates of Area 51 out for the day, to do a little probing.

Those fast packs don't look like they can hold much fuel. Tucanos on steroids, nice. Anyone know why the armour plating is a single piece on the right side, but two pieces on the left?

Re: Trained Pilots-No Planes

What bugs me is when a PFI deal comes to and end the Contractor walks away all the assets and can resell them on the open market, assets which have been paid for by MOD./quote] I'm not a fan of these PFI's, but these assets haven't been paid for by the Mod. The aircraft were bought by the company s...

Did I miss something?
Was there an engine fire? I saw this bird fly over my home in the Netherlands in the morning, together with a second one.

It’s probably the US funding the deal - easy way to get the latest Soviet hardware and then work on the flaws!
And vice versa, the soviets getting their hands on the F35's techy stuff.

Thanks for that info. I was wondering about that myself, and funnily enough I did think it was an APU.

Re: NATO badged Typhoons RAF Coningsby 22 May

There's an ad in most of the aviation mags, for aviation related t shirts, in which a stock picture of a guy in a t shirt is used, and they appear to photoshop the various designs on to the basic image. That's what this looks like!

Re: Royal Navy Captain Sacked

Can you imagine being a serviceman up on a charge for using a service vehicle for private use, and having the officer in front of you sentancing you for it, when he's done the same, and had nothing happen to him? In the forces you can't just take a service vehicle and use it, on your civvy driving l...

Lossiemouth 14 May 2019

Headed up to Lossie, the main aim was to get a pic of the Jayhawk on an F16. Luckily I did get it, as the aircraft returned without it. I was told it was the last one they had brought with them, so a stroke of good fortune there. There were 3 P8's throughout the day, and 9 Typhoons flying, but only ...

Re: daks over normandy

I call it a rip off because they are advertising tickets at a price, then loading additional "costs" on. If a ticket for the Saturday is £11.25 then it's £11.25, not £10 and £1.25 additional costs. Why don't they just say £11.25? I'm sure all those folk who can claim back the VAT, as a business expe...
