Could be 2 Typhoons on their way from Lossie.

I have a printout from a week or so back where it says we are due a visit from 2 Typhoons from IX (Bomber) Sqn from Lossie. Lets hope it happens and they will be heard and not seen.

Saw the red strobes on his (her) way to the castle.

If it were a Ryanair 737 doing the flypast Michael O'Leary would charge the passengers extra for being part of theTattoo.

The way the weather is just now I don't think anyone will see anything at all in the air. I feel for the Tattoo performers and spectators.

Oh well, they certainly gave us a wide berth.

I have heard that there will be a flypast over Edinburgh by a C130 perhaps escorted by Typhoons at 12.25 BST tomorrow (Wednesday). I have not been able to confirm if this is the case.

Maybe others can confirm if this is on.

There were certainly at least 4 or perhaps 6 flying overhead at quite an altitude around 45 mins ago. I certainly heard them and saw the contrails but as I was pegging out the washing I couldn't id them. I jokingly said that they wouldn't be ours. You're probably correct with F15s

Looks like we've had another gust of wind. 2 Typhoons going over at altitude. Do they count as Edinburgh visitors?

We live a distance from the airport in the south east of Edinburgh. My wife and I were sitting watching the television when we heard the noise. I looked on FR24 and saw it was a Typĥoon. It must have been a fair old racket for those directly beneath the flight path.

We appear to have an Atlas flying around. I heard him as he has quite a different sound and only managed to see him through the murk. According to FR24 he has been circling around. I got him over S.E. Edinburgh on the way to the coast.

Looking out from my garden I only saw the red strobe lights and a bit behind, around the same altitude, another aircraft on white lights. I couldn't hear anything. I expected the lead aircraft to go bellowing out but I heard no sound at all. It made me wonder if they were military aeroplanes in the ...

I think it is unusual to have two Tattoo shows on a Friday. So the flypast will be for 21.30 BST (the second show). If it does take place the Typhoon will have to come through with everything lit up including the engines. Let's hope the weather improves but it's pretty murky at the moment.

Who told the haar that The Red Arrows were due to visit? I'll bet the visit is cancelled. Typical Edinburgh crap weather. At least the spectators at The Tattoo won't get 'drookit' for a change. The folks next week won't be so lucky.

Perhaps they were "casing the joint" for a potential Tattoo visit.

I am sorry that I can't give any details of the helicopter but at 13.28 (local) there was a Wildcat passing over Liberton (Edinburgh) heading westwards.

I managed to catch sight of them as they came in from the east and I sure did hear them as they departed. No doubt there will be some moanie faces complaining about the noise!

13.00 bst. Just had 3 Chinooks fly over s.e. Edinburgh going east to west. They even drowned out our neighbour's noisy lawn mower.
