From the tracking on FR24 it did go over Edinburgh Airport but, once I had noticed it, it seemed to be at a constant altitude of 10,000 feet. So I assume it didn't land.

There's an RAF Shadow currently in the area busily doing circuits of Edinburgh and the Lothians. I haven't seen it but I've heard it. It's showing on FR24. This is a heads up for the experts to gather further info for themselves.

I have seen a Puma or even Pumas over the house at various times in south east Edinburgh today. I have only seen and heard them and can't give any further details of the aircraft. I assume they are the ones that are currently based at Leuchars. Would they be on exercise for the army barracks in Edin...

I have a printout of the initial flypast schedule which indicates the Poseidon is due on Friday the 23rd of August. I now see mention of Thursday (22nd). Have things changed? C17s have been replaced by A400s which is obviously for a very good reason unknown to us. Operational needs come first.

I have a printout from a week or so back where it says we are due a visit from 2 Typhoons from IX (Bomber) Sqn from Lossie. Lets hope it happens and they will be heard and not seen.

The way the weather is just now I don't think anyone will see anything at all in the air. I feel for the Tattoo performers and spectators.

Oh well, they certainly gave us a wide berth.

I have heard that there will be a flypast over Edinburgh by a C130 perhaps escorted by Typhoons at 12.25 BST tomorrow (Wednesday). I have not been able to confirm if this is the case.

Maybe others can confirm if this is on.

There were certainly at least 4 or perhaps 6 flying overhead at quite an altitude around 45 mins ago. I certainly heard them and saw the contrails but as I was pegging out the washing I couldn't id them. I jokingly said that they wouldn't be ours. You're probably correct with F15s

Looks like we've had another gust of wind. 2 Typhoons going over at altitude. Do they count as Edinburgh visitors?

We live a distance from the airport in the south east of Edinburgh. My wife and I were sitting watching the television when we heard the noise. I looked on FR24 and saw it was a Typĥoon. It must have been a fair old racket for those directly beneath the flight path.

We appear to have an Atlas flying around. I heard him as he has quite a different sound and only managed to see him through the murk. According to FR24 he has been circling around. I got him over S.E. Edinburgh on the way to the coast.
