According to a notice I received there is an Exercise on at Leeming until 27th Jan - it says that Leeming will be hosting rotary aircraft.

A red Hawk flew over Melmerby yesterday lunchtime.

Sounded as though they were up over North Yorkshire earlier.

If Coningsby is not participating in night flying then who is likely to be flying over North Yorkshire at the moment?

Out of interest have the Gripens been doing any night flying? We've had jets overhead the last few evenings and I wondered if it was them or if it's the mob from Coningsby... Ta It was Coningsby. According to an e-mail I have just received from RAF Leeming there will be some extra activity next week - only details given are "RAF Leeming will be hosting various exercising aircraft and detachments from 29/8 to 5/9, including a large-scale Tri-Service exercise (fixed and rotary wing)"

If you live near to Leeming the planes were Typhoons up from Coningsby - they were out very late last night...

They were over the Thirsk area until near midnight - which will have made them very popular with the residents of Carlton Miniott who complain at the drop of a hat about anything!

Does anyone know what the aircraft are that are playing over NY at the moment - as they were last night at about the same time? Also where they are from?

I'm assuming something like F15s from Lakenheath.

Any help would be appreciated.
