Re: Autumn in SoCal

Thanks for posting kevin El Centro is my favourite base,it is particularly good at this time of the year as The Blue Angels use EC for winter training.
I was fortunate to be there once when a Carrier Air Wing was there, F-14s, E-2s, Intruders etc etc

Could it have been a VIP flight from RAF Northolt to Canada? Someone wanting to leave UK PLC PDQ. Over and out. :)

I enjoyed the first programme, just a pity the RAF could not supply all the necessary support aircraft, many thanks RDAF.

Thanks for the post warferry, I can't believe that it is now 22 years since my last visit to Nellis. I did manage to get a piccie of a Edwards NASA Blackbird performing a fly through though.

Very sad, it looks like it may have happened in the take off roll or maybe a formation landing with one aircraft going inverted. RIP

Re: B-2A fly-by at El Toro April 1997

I was solo so I can't verify further info, it was a great show and I managed to see a SR-71 flying on the Saturday and also one depart on the Tuesday, this went around a couple of times and was fabulous as I watched it from up in the hills. I haven't really done any spotting since 2002, I just lost ...

Re: B-2A fly-by at El Toro April 1997

That was the same day as Nellis AFB 50th anniversary show, I have 2 B-2s logged there as 89-0128 and 89-0129, I bet it was one of those but I did not note which Spirit was in the static and which did a fly by.
Maybe this post will trigger someones memory.

Hopefully they are well enough to have a go on Euromillions, with that kind of good fortune one of them should win it. A happy end, that is the main thing.

Some great shots there, what are the dome like things behind the cockpit of the twin seaters, the USA variants do not have them do they?
