Re: Upgrade to mirrorless or full frame?

My main body was a 7Dii with a 5dii as a backup body with EF 24-105 f4 and a EF 100-400mm mk2. Upgraded the 5Dii for a mirrorless RP as the new backup. However the RP has been so good it has become my main body by default and I’ve added a RF600mm. The mirrorless take a little bit of getting used too...

Northolt Nightshoot XXX

A few quick edits from last nights 'Nightshoot XXX' - as always thanks to Phil and the team for organising a great event and the RAF hosts who allowed the photographers such fantastic access to the ramp: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53574930085_5c14f5d106_h.jpg 60+03 P-3C MFG3 German Navy by ...

As an alternative from photographing the float equipped Twin Otters which visited several times each day I managed to photograph the resident Black-Naped Terns:

Re: How many types of C-47 have you photographed ? (with added Russian copies)

The photos below are just from one airfield in 1974 Ryan Field, nr Tucson, AZ - Your last shot from there Aero American had bought a batch from MASDC and was slowly working through rebuilding them, although by that time, quite a few never got any further. The majority of those we saw that did escap...

How many types of C-47 have you photographed ? (with added Russian copies)

After scanning all of my slides during lockdown and uploading them all into an Apple Mac photo programme it then allows you to run searches, in an idle moment whilst crossing checking an aircrafts designation I thought ‘how many types of C-47 have I seen? For C-47 also read C-41 / C-49 / C-53 etc. S...

Re: Japanese Coast Guard collision

The Coast aircraft being reported as a Dash-8. Not sure they even have Dash 8 aircraft? More likely to be a Bombardier 300 "Shimataka" which is visually similar. Apparently involved in Earthquake Aid Supplies to the Ishikawa area. Currently 5 of 6 crew on the Japanese Coast Guard thought to have pe...
