Apologies if I've missed something but RIAT website still states car parks open at 0600 Sat & Sun and I have also received nothing telling me otherwise.
Also nothing about a 100% bag search and a 'bag free' entry lane.

Why change a system that has worked very well for years.

Probably going 'off topic' but the USAF F35 display at ILA last week was similar.
In fact the GAF Typhoon gave a much more impressive display I thought.

You wouldn't have liked the ILA show then with a bottle of water at 5€.

It's always been just the ticket which you book online and print off.
Doors open at 1000.

I am staying at the airport which will be easier to get to the show and you can see movements.
Also it is much better to visit on a trade day (first day Wednesday) as far less crowded and much better for static photography.
Museum at Gatow is good as mentioned but the other side of city to ILA show.

Totally agree...the problem is actually getting to European airshows on the day by public transport even taxis are reluctant to go as would be stuck in traffic.
Anyone any ideas they use, car hire is out for me.

That's a pity you cannot do FRIAT with your Dad as you both would have loved it but still Sunday showday and Departures will be awesome if the weather plays nice. Best tip I can give for grandstand is don't get up out your seat when something is flying as people will moan about you being in the way...

Was the static as well laid out and as easy to photograph as previous years ?
I always found it excellent as opposed to the Paris a/s.

I totally agree it has been a very good show 'in the past' especially for photography.
However I'm hearing that the last one was not a patch on the previous shows so I am reluctant to plan a visit without and 'good' reports.

I missed the last ILA due to it not looking too good with less static compared to previous years due to the 'new' airports increased movements.
Anyone went ?...and was it worth it ?
Incidentally I note the ILA site doesn't state a show venue at present.
