Re: Electric Cars. Yes No or whatever!

Where does the energy come from, for instance tidal and geothermal energy? With tidal, does it come from the interaction between the earth and the moon - if so does the moon slow down? No For tidal turbines to work, water has to flow past/through them - tides - the sea water is moved by the energy ...

Re: Electric Cars. Yes No or whatever!

The direction of the estuary is not really relevant except that the water flow would be influenced by the prevailing wind. The three dimensional profile of the seabed is the biggest factor. The Moon pulls the volume of water as it moves around the world. Watch the sea as it moves over the seabed at ...

Re: Modular a/c for the RAF?

Surely this idea has been in operation since aeroplanes were first built? The reaction time building the correct combination of parts for a wartime situation is unacceptable. Anyway, not my problem but it does seem rather a waste. They would be better employed using their knowledge to design mass tr...

Re: Sonic boom complaints

In many of the threads on FC there are members who insinuate the standards are lower now than decades ago. In my day we were taught how to enter a motor car through one of the side doors. Happy Heather. As someone who has only been sub-sonic in a Sea Venom, where do our ‘lads & lasses’ train for com...

Re: Modular a/c for the RAF?

Yes, absolutely correct. That’s the one that I meant. The Starfighter or widow maker as the German’s sometimes used to call it.

At least someone reads my posts😉

Re: Modular a/c for the RAF?

😎 So what’s new in the world? Re-invent the wheel and create a slot or two into which a retiring chap could move ;) There are/were 21 Mrs of Spitfire - piston Provost, jet versions; Strikemaster- the U2 came from the 105. The concept is really just a variation of aircraft development. Why not start ...

Re: Overflown by 2 fighter jets

My house in Grantham was overflown by 2 very low flying delta wing aircraft with single large jet exhaust. Very smokey without reheat as well. Any visiting air forces here at the moment? Only managed to glimpse them as obviously not expecting fly past. Don't think they were F35's as didn't see twin...

Re: COVID-19 UK

😷 🚑 If offered help against COVID-19 with the offer of vaccination and that person declines. Such an antisocial gesture should receive a suitable set of actions from the community. There is no prove that vaccination reduces transmission of C-19. Or have I not been looking hard enough? Hands, Face, S...
