It all depends on what you call low level.

The RAF officially class low level as anything below 2,000ft.

I grew up in Aberdeen and for most of the 80s was too young to drive. Did give a little thought at the time to low level but there are hundreds of valleys in Scotland and not knowing the routes the thought was you could sit on a random hill for days and see nothing. Initial reports on this thread from Mildenhall mentioned two tanker callsigns but only 1 tanker got airborne so could be that one B-1B had to abort the mission with only 1 Mildenhall tanker launching. Just a guess.

The first KC-10 was delivered in 1981 but if we are talking ancient there are USAF KC-135s still in service that were built for example in 1959.

The MO F-15Es out east went through Mildenhall in early October last year so with the normal 6 month deployment period I would think should be heading home soon.
