2014 Display Tucano
Hi, Popped up after a heads up on Twitter that the only practice of the day would be in ZF244. :) The only disappointment was that the two displays were over the cross runway so no decent underside shots due to haze. :( The plus points were, the sun came out and on landing the pilot taxied right to ...

Re: 3 Sea Kings
Hi,
Can confirm they are ZA295/U, ZD480/J and ZF118/O.
They landed at Linton to refuel at 14:20.
ZD480 was the lead and was 'pinging' into Linton although ZF118 was the lead and 'pinging' when they went out.
Departed to Lossiemouth at 15:06 as NAVY 750

Re: Tucano crash landing this morning , 8th
Hi Andy, why do you think it was an engine failure? judging by the damage to the tips it would appear that it was turning when it hit, but if there was any kind of engine failure they would have feathered the prop which would not have given the resultant damage. Also mate, you know as well as i do ...

Just seen a report of the incident on the York Press website. Did they use your photo? There's one on there that looks like it.
Steve
Not one of mine as I've had a quick look, could be an official one as there was someone taking photos on base.

Re: ZF349 crash pictures
Hi, There are quite a few in storage at the moment although when I was at Shawbury in October one of the guys said that about 27 were going up for tender. Ths one could be repaired depending on the damage but I personally think it will be stripped down of usable parts and then follow 344 & 409 to th...

with all the prop banter, here is a close up
But on a serious note, it is good that this has a happy ending and not a sad one.

Re: Tucano crash landing this morning , 8th
Hi, It was apparently engine failure resulting in a wheels up landing, which looks about right judging by the skid marks on the grass. The crew did a good job in landing it and walked away unhurt. :) I managed some pics which I'll post later before the MOD police turned up. The viewing area is now c...

That was quick, so am I correct in thinking number 1 is the one nearest the new control Tower?
Mark[/quote]
You are indeed correct.
I have an aerial photo if that would be of use.
